Chapter News
We were pleased to welcome 29 new members this fall. The below photo is from initiation day on
October 1 of the “Alpha Iota” class. There being great interest in our chapter by more Indiana students,
we have a second new member class presently in New Member Orientation, with initiation anticipated the
week of November 26. This group of 21 new members, the “Alpha Kappa” class, are already adding
greatly to our brotherhood. With the new member classes this fall, we have a strong position of 161
members. We are the 4th largest chapter on campus amongst 18 IFC fraternities.

Academics are a priority at Indiana Pike. Spring 2023 University GPA reports Delta Xi members average
GPA is 3.33 and are gunning for Tau Epsilon Phi’s 3.53 GPA. We’re very pleased that more than half our
brothers are carding 3.7 or higher GPAs.

We’ve enjoyed great brotherhood events this fall like a paintball trip to the "eXplore Brown County" park.
Additionally, we went far in the IFC-sponsored philanthropy basketball league, defeating #1 seed FIJI
then falling a point short to FIJI in the quarterfinals. Pike Soccer finished the season 2-0 and went into
playoffs as the highest-ranked fraternity team (#3 seed). We lost in the playoffs to the #2 overall team 3-1.
PIKE football will be competing in intramurals in the coming months.

Indiana PIKE is very proud of our record of philanthropy and support of our community. We’ve
completed 250 service hours this semester and are on track to surpass $38,000 in funds raised.

Our innovative Spikeball and Cornhole tournament with potential new members during recruitment
week raised $500 for Kate’s Krew, a philanthropy supporting a member of Zeta Tau Alpha with Stage 4
Sarcoma cancer.

We participated in North Central Church of Christ’s annual “Trunk or Treat” event, handing out candy to
local community children, logging 150 service hours.

In another Halloween event, we participated in Treats with the Greeks, where each house on Greek Row
hosts a candy station for local community children. Our station was at Pi Kappa Phi's house with Phi
Delta Theta and Alpha Chi Omega also joining us. Our costume theme was Retro. Pikes logged another
100 service hours.

We are again participating in the Indiana University Dance Marathon, coming up November 10-11! We
are currently in the process of raising money for Riley's Children's Hospital. Our goal is to beat our total
of last year ($38,000). Please click this link if you'd like to donate to our team and help us meet our goal:

The Dance Marathon will take place on November 10-11th.

Stay in touch with the Chapter on Instagram @pikeindiana. We are working on creating a new Facebook
page as well as forthcoming digital newsletter.

It’s an honor to serve as President of Delta Xi Chapter. Please reach out to me with any questions.

The PIKE family is always welcome to visit whenever in Bloomington!
