WHAT IS LEADERSHIP STYLE?
• A Good Leader is one who can use a different Styles
and Quality depending on Situation and who has
Mastered the necessary Interpersonal Skills that need
to be applied.- Melissa Contreras
• Leaders’ styles encompass how they Relate to others
within and outside the Organization, how they View
themselves and their Position, and—to a large
extent—whether or not they are Successful as Leaders.
WHY PAY ATTENTION TO
LEADERSHIP STYLE?

Because the style of an Organization’s


leadership is reflected in both the Nature of
that Organization and its Relationship with
the Community.
CONCEPTIONS OF LEADERSHIP:

• Gaining and exercising the privileges of high
status.
• Being the boss.
• Task orientation.
• Taking care of people.
• Empowerment.
• Providing moral leadership.
• Providing and working toward a vision.
METHODS OF LEADERSHIP:
• Pure exercise of power.
• Political scheming.
• Using relationships.
• Setting an example.
• Persuasion.
• Sharing power.
• Charisma.
• Involving followers in the goal.
• Various combinations of these and other methods.

1. The Coaching Leader – Works with Individuals, taking
them aside and showing them how they can Improve
themselves.
2. The Affiliative Leader – Strive for Harmony within the
Group and Effective Build Networks in Organization.
It will be useful when there is an Issue of Low Morale or
Lack of Trust in the Organization.
3. The Democratic Leader – Use Input from the Team’s
Individual and Collective Skill Set and Acumen to Work
Out the Best Decisions going forward.
4. The Pacesetting Leader – Who has High Standards for
Himself or Herself and Expects the Same from Others in
Organization.
5. The Visionary Leader – The Perfect Leader for a Drastic
Organizational Change, and know how to Inspire and Not
be Quick to Give Up on the Vision.
6. The Commanding Leader – This Styles Involves Hardly
any Positive Feedback at all, Low Morale is Almost Certain.
It can be apply in Extreme Situation.

• This Style allows Greater Freedom
and Responsibility for People.
• However, you need Competent
People around you or Nothing will

• Good leaders usually have a style that they
consciously use most of the time, but they're not
rigid. They change as necessary to deal with
whatever comes up.
• Be consistent with what people in the organization
expect.
• Your style needs to be consistent with the goals,
mission, and philosophy of your organization.
