NOTES OF GUIDANCE: LABWORK 1 (10%)

CLO1:

Construct building models using techniques, resources and BIM tools for basic
modelling correctly. (P3,PLO5)

General:

Students are required to create a new Architecture Template using Default-Metric

Template for 3D building modelling. Students should implement Configuring Templates
and Standards knowledge to complete the tasks given. This template will be created
using Autodesk Revit Software (2019-2022 version). The completed task should be
submitted on Week 2.
Note: Software version can be change depend on institution requirement
Task 1
To meet the Lab Work requirements, you will need to:
● Performs an Architectural Template for the new project by using Default-Metric
Template with the value of 2 on Maximum Backup then saves the project file as
01Labwork_Your Name_Registration No.

1. Create a new Revit model file using architectural template.

2. Saves the project file as 01Labwork_Your Name_Resgisteration No. with the

value of 2 on Maximum Backup.
Task 2
Using the project file created, you will need to:
● Duplicate elevation line under Elevation (Building Elevation)- East as in Figure 1.
The height of each level is set at 3300mm (except Ground Level to Foundation
Level is 500mm).

1. Duplicate elevation line under Elevation (Building Elevation) – East using ‘Copy’
interface on Modify I Levels after selecting an elevation line.

2. Rename each level as in Figure 1 (Labwork 1) and set the height of each level at
3300mm (except Ground Level to Foundation Level is 500mm).
Task 3
Using the same project file created, you will need to:
● Reproduce the Vertical and Horizontal gridlines with dimension as shown in
Figure 2. Ensure that grid line 1 and A are intersecting at Project Base Point and
pin the gridlines. *Note: All dimensions are 4mm text size

1. Toggle on Reveal Hidden Elements interface to find Project Base Point.

2. Using Grid interface on Structure Tab, create Vertical and Horizontal gridlines
labelled as grid line 1 and A intersecting at Project Base Point.
3. Reproduce the Vertical and Horizontal gridlines as shown in Figure 2
(Labwork 1).

4. Insert Dimensions using Aligned interface on Annotate Tab as show in Figure 2

(Labwork 1) *Note: All dimensions are 4mm text size.
