institutions.

system underwent significant changes, including educational reforms to expand schools and the
promotion of one language policy, Filipino.

Japanese control that emphasized the teaching of the Japanese language.
1944- 1946- After the World War II the Philippines underwent considerable improvements an
inclusive and vibrant educational environment has emerged.
1946-Present- In the present day, the educational system in the Philippines continues to evolve
and improve as it complies with the needs of society. Some of the significant changes were the
implementation of the K–12 program.
2. Discuss the newly piloted DepEd “Matatag Curriculum” in detail. (10 points)
- The Matatag Curriculum seeks to streamline the current curriculum by decreasing study areas
and emphasizing core skills. It anticipates students developing higher-order thinking skills
through balanced cognitive demands. The curriculum aims to improve material and applied
learning proficiency while addressing overselection in the current educational system.
3. It was reported that in the Philippine workforce there is job-skills mismatch. What does hob-
skills mismatch imply about the relevance of schools to present society? Are schools effective
agents of socialization in preparing Filipino graduates for their job roles? (5 points)
-A "job mismatch" refers to a mismatch between the abilities and qualifications of the job
seeker. It is possible that schools are not fully linked with societal demands or requirements.
For example, schools primarily provide chances for education students, but society's
expectations were nurses. It may also imply that schools are not adequately educating pupils
for the specific career roles and industries into which they are entering. One of the factors
would be the curriculum's relevancy. Because curriculum alignment does not effectively
address industry expectations, it might contribute to the skills gap.
