HOW TO CALCULATE PON BANDWIDTH

VALUE FOR MA5600T

Question:

1, the command “display port info PortID” display

“Left guaranteed bandwidth (kbps)”, the command
“display port state PortID” display “Available bandwidth”, which is the real residual
bandwidth for PON port?

2, if the customer has any doubt about the residual bandwidth command displays
the value, how to manually calculate the remaining bandwidth for MA5600T?

Answer:

1, “Left guaranteed bandwidth (kbps):” the remaining bandwidth PON ports, which are
not currently allocated bandwidth, bandwidth for a host of calculated values. This
value with the addition of ONT allocated bandwidth is directly related to size, after the
addition of ONT minus the corresponding bandwidth. Can be understood as a static
value.

“Available bandwidth”: available bandwidth, as the actual value of available

bandwidth. The actual network, PON while configuring multiple ONT, but not all of
the ONT will run full bandwidth,no occupation is the residual bandwidth. Can be
understood as a dynamic value.

2,

1) to manual calculation PON export surplus bandwidth, need to know the following
information:

MA5680T (config) #display dba-profile all

MA5600T (config) #interface GPON <frameid>/<slotid>

MA5680T (config-if-gpon-f/s) #display port info <port-id>

MA5600T (config-if-gpon-f/s) #display ont info <port-id> <ontid> /

/ query configuration information for the ONT all under the PON port
2) assumptions for the calculation of the premise:

MA5600T (config-if-gpon-0/1) #display port info 0

F/S/P 0/1/0

Min distance (km) 0

Max distance (km) 20

Left guaranteed bandwidth (kbps) 1164032

Number of T-CONTs 12

Autofind Enable

FEC check Disable

Laser switch On

ONT encryption key switching interval (m) Disable

——————————————————–

The command line to display the PON export surplus bandwidth is 1164032kbps;

There are four ONT the PON port. ONT 1 has three business TCONT, respectively, using
the DBA template of 10, 10 and 20; ONT 2, two TCONT, 10 DBA templates are used; ONT
3 has two business TCONT, are using template DBA 10; ONT 4 there is a business of
TCONT, use the DBA template 10.

1 byte in OLT 64 kbit/s. The default template of DBA 1, 5M=5120kbit/s=80 bytes

bandwidth; DBA template 10, bandwidth is 6M=6144kbit/s=96 bytes; DBA template
20, bandwidth is 5M=80 bytes.

3) manual calculation process is as follows:

Protocol defined in the uplink bandwidth Max: 1244160 kbit/s =19440 bytes;

The Huawei OLT emergency PLOAM message bandwidth reservation: (52 * 64) kbit/s
= 52 bytes

Each ONT PLOu: 32 bytes bandwidth reserved

ONT 1 bandwidth:

<T-CONT 0> DBA Profile-ID:1 80 bytes

<T-CONT 1> DBA Profile-ID:10 96 bytes

<T-CONT 4> DBA Profile-ID:10 96 bytes

<T-CONT 5> DBA Profile-ID:20 80 bytes

ONT 2 bandwidth:

<T-CONT 0> DBA Profile-ID:1 80 bytes

<T-CONT 1> DBA Profile-ID:10 96 bytes

<T-CONT 4> DBA Profile-ID:10 96 bytes

ONT 3 bandwidth:

<T-CONT 0> DBA Profile-ID:1 80 bytes

<T-CONT 1> DBA Profile-ID:10 96 bytes

<T-CONT 4> DBA Profile-ID:10 96 bytes

ONT 4 bandwidth:

<T-CONT 0> DBA Profile-ID:1 80 bytes

<T-CONT 1> DBA Profile-ID:10 96 bytes

So the residual bandwidth of =19440 – 52 – 32 * 80 * 4 – 5 – 96 * 7 = 18188 bytes

18188 bytes * 64 kbit/s = 1164032 Kbps, consistent with the command line to check to
see the results.

4) note that each ONT will have a default TCONT 0, use the default template
DBA 1 (80bytes), for the transmission of ONT management message OMCI. The
TCONT cannot be deleted, but can be modified. ONT currently supports the
minimum bandwidth is 1M, the new HG824X may support to smaller.
