I. INTRODUCTION

The Peruvian economy has experienced ups and downs

throughout its history, and recession is an issue that has
worried many. In recent years, Peru has faced economic
challenges, especially due to factors such as the pandemic,
political uncertainty, and structural issues.

In 2020, the Peruvian economy contracted significantly due to

the COVID-19 pandemic, affecting several sectors, including tourism, mining, and
manufacturing. Despite the government's efforts to mitigate the impact, recovery
has been a challenging process (Urbina De Flores, 2023).
II. DEVELOPMENT

The main causes of the recession in Peru are:

High inflation, which has reduced consumers' purchasing power and dampened domestic
consumption.
Political and social uncertainty, which has discouraged private investment.
The global economic slowdown, which has reduced demand for Peruvian exports.

The consequences of the recession in Peru are:

Increasing poverty and inequality.
Loss of jobs.
Reduced income for businesses and households.
Decrease in tax collection.
Greater difficulties in accessing credit.
CONCLUSION

Ultimately, the impact of Peru's economic recession will depend on the

measures the government takes. If the government takes appropriate action,
the recession could be an opportunity for the country to reform and
modernize. However, if the government does not take adequate measures, the
recession could worsen the country's situation (Fernández, 2023).

In conclusion, Peru's economic rescission is a complex issue with arguments

for and against. The impact of the recession will depend on the measures the
government takes.
