    Re: Engineering Science Internship Opportunity

    I am writing to you to apply for an internship at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare as an


    Engineering Science student. F&PH has long been at the top of the list of dream companies
    to work at. I am particularly passionate about your mission to fully realise technology’s
    potential in healthcare, especially in the context of the New Zealand healthcare crisis.

    I believe I am a strong candidate due to my background in engineering and my wealth of


    experience from extracurricular commitments. I can also confidently say that I am an
    individual with self-discipline, driven by the desire to keep learning and growing as a person.

    • I have limited experience as a Peer Mentor at UoA Faculty of Engineering Part 1


    Assistance Centre. This means I have a good grasp of basic engineering knowledge
    and a wide range of technical skills. Most of my analytical and problem-solving
    experience comes from UoA Case Club competitions and Hackathons.

    • I possess strong communication and analytical skills. Much of my teamwork


    experience comes from case competitions, which betters my soft skills and my ability
    to adapt significantly. I also wish to improve and implement my technical skills in
    more creative areas such as Product Development, and Design & Testing.

    • I pride myself on being self-motivated and efficient. I frequently pick up new skills,
    such as coding languages, while finding and creating opportunities to refine old ones.
    I have had to teach myself business case-cracking under time pressure when I
    participated in case competitions, one of which our team made it to the finals.

    I welcome the opportunity to speak with you in more detail about this position and how I
    could use my skills to benefit Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Limited.
