incorporated in December 1945, in Mumbai by Mohammed
Premji as “Western India Vegetable Products Ltd.”

• It is headquartered in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

Education

Education for underprivileged children


• Initiative help educate children from low-
income families
• Also considers their nutrition, enrolment and
offers counselling for their parents.
Education for Children with Disability
• Specially trained teachers are tutoring the kids
• Programme also integrates other important
factors like assistive technology and health
care.
Systemic Reforms in School Education
• Wipro Applying Thought in Schools (WATIS) -
Systemic Reforms in School Education improving
quality of education in government schools,
strengthening social science and ecology
education, and supporting students from
marginalized communities.

• Contributing to the Education sector and overall Development of India through

Tsunami Project in Tamil Nadu


In 2004, when the Tsunami hit the coastal area,
Wipro Cares helped by:
1. Giving livelihood support
2. Reconstruction of schools
3. 35 earthquake and cyclone proof houses

Bihar Floods
In 2008, 2.3 million lives were affected Wipro
Cares helped by:
1. Partnering with UNDP
2. Built eco sanitation and rainwater
harvesting awareness
Karnataka Floods
When floods struck in 2009 in Karnataka,
Wipro Cares helped in:
1. 111 houses in villages
Hosurapaidoddi
2. They also reconstructed 428 houses
in Naregal

In June 2013, during the Uttarakhand
Floods, Wipro initiated by addressing
systemic socio-economic concerns

Less Plastic For Me


Wipro Cares collaborated with malls, supermarkets
and shops to create awareness about not using
plastic bags.

Save the Planet


Along with Wipro Cares, TIST India encourages farmers to
plant 25000 trees in their own land. This initiative also trains
the farmers about activities to use their property more
productively and efficiently
Rural Health Program
Project Sanjeevani

• Wipro cares launched, Its first rural healthcare project


in 2009 called project Sanjeevani.

• The project covers nine small villages, all situated in


and around Wipro’s Waluj factory.

• To provide quality health services

• To strengthen the local Anganwadi institutions

• To treat malnutrition cases among Children.

• To create awareness regarding personal hygiene, diet


and vaccinations
Hindupur Health Care Project

• Hindupur is one of the most backward areas as it


is drought prone and has perennial water
shortage.

• This project was started with objectives of


rendering health care services to around 2000
workers

• Health camps for the benefit of the agriculture


laborers, workers, women and children.

COVID-19 Response

• Wipro Ltd, Wipro Enterprises Ltd and Azim Premji


Foundation, have together committed Rs 1125
crore towards tackling the unprecedented
health and humanitarian crisis arising from the
COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.

• Wipro GE Healthcare and PPHF have also


supported a dedicated COVID 19 Hospital
(Block 1 and Block 2) at the Ram Manohar
Lohia Hospital in New Delhi to take care of the
increasing demand of COVID-19 patients.
