Procedure of Cutting-off the Fuel Injection

Refer to Instruction manual 032-01

Case : Fuel injection pump / Solenoid valve unit / Fuel oil pipes in trouble.

(1) Stop the engine.


(2) Stop the electric driven hydraulic oil pump and reduce the high pressure hydraulic oil pressure to
0MPa by Fully open the by-pass valve at hydraulic oil line.
(3) Turn the “CYL CUT FOR MAINTENANCE (FUEL)” switch from OFF to ON in cylinder controller.
Alarm occurred and light up the SYSTEM ABNORMAL on main controller.
(4) Fully close the manual stop device(screw) for fuel injection system.

Keep “OFF”

Fuel injection cut-off switches in cylinder controller. Close manual stop device for fuel injection system.
(=Close the hydraulic oil inlet line)

Procedure of Cutting-off Exhaust valve driving system

Refer to Instruction manual 032-02

Case : Removed pistons or other moving parts and Damaged exhaust valve driving parts.

(1) Stop the engine.


(2) Stop the electric driven hydraulic oil pump and reduce the high pressure hydraulic oil pressure to
0MPa by Fully open the by-pass valve at hydraulic oil line.
(3) Turn the “CYL CUT FOR MAINTENANCE (FUEL & EXH)” and “CYL CUT FOR MAINTENANCE
(FUEL)” switches from OFF to ON in cylinder controller.
Alarm occurred and light up the SYSTEM ABNORMAL on main controller.
(4) Fully close the manual stop devices(screw) for both systems.
(5) Open the air vent plug of fuel injection valves at cut-off cylinder.

Fuel injection cut-off switches in cylinder controller. Close manual stop device for both systems.
(=Close the hydraulic oil inlet line)

Open the air-vent plug of fuel injection valve.

1. Normal engine side operation


Preparation for operation
(1) Change “CONTROL & MODE POSITION” switch on “C/R” position at ECR.
(2) Change at engine side the “CONTROL POSITION” from “Remote” to “E/S”.
(3) Change at engine side the “CONTROL MODE” set to “SPEED”.
(4) Confirm that turn on the LEDs to “E/S” and “SPEED”.

Starting --- AHEAD


(1) Confirm that the Auxiliary Blowers are running.
(2) Set the setting dial at the E/S controller to D/Slow speed.
(3) Set the E/S control switch to “AH START”.  Engine will start an Air running.
(4) Make sure that the engine speed during the air run has reached 10 to 20 RPM, and immediately
set the E/S control switch from “AH START” to “AH RUN”.
Starting air will be cut-off, and start to fuel operation corresponding to the setting dial position.

Step2 : Set dial position Step3 and 4 : Turn control switch then start the air run
and fuel operation.

Starting---AST
(1) Confirm that the Auxiliary Blowers are running.
(2) Set the setting dial at the E/S controller to D/Slow speed.
(3) Set the E/S control switch to “AS START”.  Engine will start an Air running.
(4) Make sure that the engine speed during the air run has reached about 10 to 20RPM, and immediately
set the E/S control switch from “AS START” to “AS RUN”.
Starting air will be cut-off, and start to fuel operation corresponding to the setting dial position.

Step2 : Set dial position Step3 and 4 : Turn control switch then start the air run
and fuel operation.

Stopping
(1) Set the setting dial to 0 rpm and fuel is cut-off.
(2) Set the E/S control switch to “STOP” position.
(3) Confirm engine stops.

Step1 : Set dial position to 0 rpm. Step2 : Turn control switch to STOP position.

2. Engine side operation( Operation without main controller )
Case: Eco-engine Main controller failure
Preparation for operation
(1) Change “CONTROL & MODE POSITION” switch on “C/R” position at ECR.
(2) Change at engine side the “CONTROL POSITION” from “Remote” to “E/S”.
(3) Change at engine side the “CONTROL MODE” from “SPEED” to “FUEL”.
(4) Confirm that turn on the LEDs to “E/S” and “FUEL”.

Starting --- AHEAD


(1) Confirm that the Auxiliary Blowers are running.
(2) Set the setting dial at the 3 to 4 position.
(3) Set the E/S control switch to “AH START”.  Engine will start an Air running.

set the E/S control switch from “AH START” to “AH RUN”.

*NOTE : If the engine is run without using the main controller, fuel oil corresponding to the setting dial position
is charged. For this reason, the setting dial must be operated with care.

and fuel operation.

Starting---AST
(1) Confirm that the Auxiliary Blowers are running.
(2) Set the setting dial at the 3 to 4 position.
(3) Set the E/S control switch to “AS START”.  Engine will start an Air running.
(4) Make sure that the engine speed during the air run has reached about 10 to 20RPM, and immediately
set the E/S control switch from “AS START” to “AS RUN”.
Starting air will be cut-off, and start to fuel operation corresponding to the setting dial position.

*NOTE : If the engine is run without using the main controller, fuel oil corresponding to the setting dial position
is charged. For this reason, the setting dial must be operated with care.

Step2 : Set dial position Step3 and 4 : Turn control switch then start the air run
and fuel operation.

Stopping
(1) Set the setting dial to “0” position and fuel is cut-off.
(2) Set the E/S control switch to “STOP” position.
(3) Confirm engine stops.

Step1 : Set dial position to “0” position. Step2 : Turn control switch to STOP position.

Procedure for emergency stop of the main engine under the
remote control system power source failure condition

Special Instruction

In case of both AC100V(main) and DC24V(emergency) electric power source failure in the
Remote Control System, manual emergency stop function does not work.
In this situation, the main engine should be stopped by one of the following ways.

The way 1
Changeover the operation positions refer to following procedure.
(Changeover from “REMOTE” to “Engine Side”)

1. Confirm the operation switch position on the E/S Control Box.


① CONTROL MODE : SPEED mode position
② CONTROL SWITCH : STOP position
③ SETTING DIAL : “0” position

2. Change over the operation position from “REMOTE” to “E/S” by the control position
CHANGEOVER SWITCH located on the E/S Control Box.
・Fuel injection stops by STOP signal sent from E/S Cont. Box to ECS-800.
・Exhaust valves continue to operate until main engine stop.

Procedure for emergency stop of the main engine under the
remote control system power source failure condition

The way 2 (The way 1 must be tried at first)


Cutting off power supplies for drivers of solenoid valve.

1. Cut off No.1 - No.7 cyl. DRIVER power supply switches in the Power
Distribution Box 2 on the middle floor of Engine. (Have to be cut all at once.)
・All solenoid valves stop immediately.
・Fuel injection system and Exhaust valve driving system can’t work.
