WORKING ENVIRONMENT FOR THE WORKERS

Mission of Spotify:

To unlock the potential of human creativity by giving a million creators the

opportunity to live off their art and billions of fans the opportunity to enjoy and be
inspired by it.
In general, working at Spotify means working hard, but it also means having a
lot of fun. We often have famous artists come play at offices (very cool offices),
we have Friday beers (which usually also involves a lot of video game playing
and ping pong tournaments), and we often have social events both in-house and
off-site.

More importantly, the people at Spotify are all great people. Everybody is nice
and welcoming when you are new. The openness within the company is great.
Being able to go for lunch with Daniel Ek, the CEO, and discuss both life and
future goals of the company is probably not something you can do as a
developer at just any company the size of Spotify.

Values needed in employees:

Innovative – They move fast and take big risk. They cultivate curiosity.
They are unafraid to fail, knowing that each mistake contains a valuable lesson
and gets us one step closure towards creativity and innovation.

Sincere- They have no time for internal politics. they lead with transparency
and engage with open minds. Creating something new requires trust so candid
feedback delivered with good intent is at the heart of everything they do.

Passionate- They revel in what they do. They genuinely care about their
shared Spotify mission, pushing themselves to become masters of the part they
play. They energize and inspire others, knowing that excitement drives
innovation.

Collaborative- They recognize that they are all in this together. Everyone is
an integral part of the work they do with an equal opportunity to participate-
they share ideas and best practices across business units and despite traditional
hierarchies.

Playful- With all that said, they do not take themselves too seriously. They
connect with each other. They celebrate successes. And just like a real band,
they like to jam.

Power to our people-

It does not matter where you join us or in what role. You will be supported to do
your best work, enjoy your day-to-day and get where you want to go.
Work in progress

Growth is our mantra. So, at Spotify, we do not just ask you to embrace learning,
we ask you to own it. When you do, you will find all the guidance and support you
need to truly thrive.

How they roll :-

 Spaces they love

Bay area culture is everywhere here. Think colourful,

California-cool interiors and meeting rooms named after
homegrown artists. When we want to chill out, we head
to our dedicated games lounge, a corner spot complete
with Ping Ping and amazing views of our city.

 Things they do

You might find us taking five with a glass of cold brew or

kombucha. We have got both on tap. And we always
make time for each other at our weekly office lunches.
Asian food, Indian flavours, Latin American dishes - it is all on the menu.

 Places they go

When we are not hanging out in the office, we are heading

outdoors to enjoy all our city has to offer. In San Francisco,
that means hiking or biking a forest trail or spending some
time on the water. We have got a lot of oceans.
HERE ARE SOME PERSONAL EXPERIENCE OF SPOTIFY
WORKERS
Very playful culture, with lots of music and concerts at the office. With flat
hierarchies and a fast-paced environment, with lots of challenges and engaging
activities (e.g., we have something called intro days where all new joiners get to
fly to Stockholm to meet the lead team as well as other new spotifiers from
around the world) I've had many employers over the years and Spotify has
gotten it right. I frequently hear my colleagues used the words "grateful,
appreciative, blessed" to work in this type of environment.

The environment at Spotify is truly like any other company I've ever worked
before. Passionate, motivated, entrepreneurial- minded professionals that care
about the work they are doing and the company overall. Kindness matters here,
people go out of their way to help co-workers and there are many employee
resource groups dedicated to diversity or outside volunteering. There are ways
to advance ourselves personally and professionally. Greenhouse is our dedicated
learning & development team offering courses on leadership, manager 101,
driving your career, having a growth mindset and sustainable productivity.
Personally, we have team building activities like an upcoming trip to see the
northern lights in Sweden, wine & cheese tastings, weekly meditation and yoga
to volunteering/tutoring offered to students in nearby high schools. There are so
many ways to be involved here at Spotify and opportunities to participate in
each one!
