• An electronic resource (e-resource) is
any information source that the library
provides access to in an electronic
format. It can also be defined as any
work encoded and made available for
access through the use of a computer
DATABASE
• A database is a collection of
information that is organized so that it
can easily be accessed, managed, and
updated. In one view, databases can be
classified according to types of content:
bibliographic, full-text, numeric, and
images

Search Engines
• Search engines are programs that search
documents for specified keywords and return a
list of the documents where the keywords were
found, used especially for finding information
on the World Wide Web.
Search Strategies

• Databases and different sites have several


features that will allow you to build searches
that will focus your search to relevant
information. These features include keyword
searching, subject searching, simple searching,
Boolean operators, truncation, phrase
searching, and search limiting. Understanding
these techniques will allow you to search more
efficiently and effectively. This is called

• In search strategis there are five basics rules to
folllow namely:
1. MEETING KEY CONCEPT & TERMS
2. SELECT RELEVANT DATABASE &
RESOURCES
3. COMBINE SEARCH TERMS WITH BOOLEAN
OPERATIONS
4. RESEARCHES IN SELECTED RESOURCES
5. REVIEW AND REFINE RESEARCH RESULTS
