chinese etymology
The word "China" has its origins in the Sanskrit "Cīna," which
referred to the Qin dynasty of China, which ruled in the 3rd
century BC. The Qin dynasty was the first to unify much of what is
now China. Over time, this word morphed into different languages
and became known as "China" in English and other Western
languages.
