Dear Hiring Manager,

My name is Paige Mott, and I am applying to the Pediatric RN Residency Program at Johns Hopkins All
Children’s Hospital. I am graduating from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in
Nursing in December 2023. My enriching clinical experience in the CVICU, NICU, and PACU at JHACH
solidified my passion for pediatric care. During my time as a Johns Hopkins Scholar, I have learned about the
motivating, collaborative environment at JHACH that I desire to be a part of. My time at JHACH has
provided me with invaluable insights into the realm of pediatric nursing, and I hope to expand my knowledge
and clinical experience through the Pediatric RN Residency Program.

My desire to work with the pediatric population first began when I volunteered to coach a 12U softball team.
I planned practices, attended games, and fostered a supportive environment on and off the field. I learned
that through my interactions with these children, I could positively make an impact in their lives and serve as
a role-model. My passion for service grew as I matriculated into college. While in my accelerated nursing
program at USF, I volunteered as a site leader for the Office of Leadership and Student Organizations’ annual
“Un-Bull-ievable Service Break Trip.” As a site leader, I planned the logistics of the trip, motivated trip
members, and led daily discussions to go over the events from the day. These skills of planning,
communicating, and educating will all translate well as I care for my future patients.

While in the College of Nursing at USF, I wanted to further expand on my love for mentorship and make an
impact within the College of Nursing. I became a Level 4 Mentor and empowered 1st semester nursing
students to excel academically and within the clinical setting. Furthermore, I used my communication skills to
tutor other students within the nursing program while simultaneously helping them gain confidence. These
experiences, combined with my academic achievements, have equipped me with the skills and knowledge
necessary to excel while in the Pediatric RN Residency Program.

I am confident that my diverse experiences and unwavering commitment make me a strong candidate for this
program. I am eager to contribute to the legacy of Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital and to further its
mission of providing leadership in child health.
