Listening

What are the positive impacts of listening in your everyday life as a student?

Generally, listening has a lot of positive impacts in our everyday

lives, it helps us to understand others, enhance relationships,
persuade others, lead and inspire a team and learn from others. As a
nursing student, listening is crucial especially in nursing for the reason
that in order to understands and comprehend the lesson. In nursing,
there are a lot of unfamiliar terms and words discussed that are
needed to listen attentively in order to understand and familiarized to
the concept. As a student, I would say, that the positive impacts of
listening aside from acquiring knowledge is that it gives time for self
evaluation. Listening also provides peace at some point depending on
what is being said. The better you listen, the more you'll be listened
to. Listening makes us knowledgeable and thoughtful person. Hence,
Listening is a powerful tool for generating ideas and expanding our
understanding of what we are hearing. Every time we listen, new
information is added to our knowledge given that listening equates
with knowledge.

Moreover, through listening I was able to meet new friends

because we are engaging in a conversation, its is also beneficial for
me because I am certain to discover something new as I listen to
someone else. Listening also encourages the development of
relationships because it necessitates concentration and attention. On
the other hand, we should all be able to discern who we should listen
to, as listening to someone who doesn't have a positive attitude on
life or who is narrow-minded and who says things that aren't quite
correct might be dangerous. As students, we must keep in mind that
our future depends on who we listen to. As a result, we just have to
give attention to people who are righteous and will not harm us.
