DESIDERIO A. SATORRE JR.

Visual Artist-Trainer
Ph. 6, Apalit Ave, Pampanga, Davao City

Dear Mr. Satorre,

Warm Greetings from the National Book Development Board!

We would like to share with you our common engagement in the Book Nook Program!

As part of our commitment to invigorate the status of our Book Nook sites and centers as a reading and storytelling
community, we are launching our first quarter site assistance program for 2022.

The program hopes to bring to the attention of the participants the various windows from where Philippine culture is
perceived and understood. Through our various books and learning materials that are complex and richly varied, one can
determine that Philippine culture are produced in the intersecting axes of history, geography and constituted by politics,
economics, religious and other social forces. (Durungawan, 2021)

It is always our desire at the NBDB to provide reading materials that deepens our understanding of the multiple facets of
Philippine culture as creative articulations of the Filipino soul. In this connection, we are introducing a summer arts
workshop for children under the program dubbed as Hibla Lokal Filipina.

The project aims to advance the utilization of our various books at the Book Nook Site and Centers by employing
different methods in the arts. The project may run from May and/to June 2022 depending on your implementation plan.
For your reference, please find the program brief. For clarification and inquiries, you may contact Ms. Virgie Nicodemus,
our Book Nook Project Administrator or any of the Cluster Coordinators assigned to you at
booknook_operations@nbdb.gov.ph. We are looking forward for a fruitful partnership for this endeavor.

Thank you and we look forward to working with you.

Yours truly,

CHARISSE AQUINO-TUGADE
Executive Director III
