Moran explained the results to PsyPost: "Men prefer when women are more involved on dates, but women prefer men who are more polite on a first date." In the final study, the researchers tested their theories by watching the Netflix show Dating Around, in which people are filmed as they go on first dates However, they found that in the show, getting a second date was not related to use of the tactics mentioned in the first two studies. The researchers said this may have been because the show was edited to. be more entertaining, or because the behaviors that people think are successful actually don't work in reality!
