Components required/Used: -
• Bulb
• Wires
• Resistor
Equipment required/Used: -
• Multimeter
• A breadboard
• A battery.
Procedure: -
1 Open the Tinkercad software.
5 Use a resistor to to supply electric current accross the trench of the breadboard.
7 Now connect a multimeter and note out the value of either current, voltage or resistance.

Breadboard is used to make temporary circuits to test them out. It is given this name
because it looks like bread with circuits. It is not feasible to hold all components together and
create each circuit anew if any problem arises. On a breadboard you can plug and unplug
electrical components, checking them, making sure that your circuit works. It saves the hassle
of setting up a circuit and later finding out that your components do not work.
Breadboard is made of three sections: Two sets of very long power rails and the large
middle section that is full of those 5-hole-long terminal strips. On the underside there are
small metal strips with certain sockets group connecting physically that allow electricity to
flow freely between them. The lines on the breadboard indicate the continuity which is of
electrical importance. The series connected dots have the continuity which means the dot
share the same conductor and parallel connected dots have no continuity at all.
We were able to get the results by making the connections right. We connected the ammeter
in series and voltmeter in parallel to get the right reading with having a resistance. It is
important to understand the concept of circuits completely while working in an electrical lab.
Reading 1: -
The reading of voltage in the multimeter is relatively close to the battery because a resistor of
low resistance was used. Note that if the connections are made correctly, the reading of
voltage on the multimeter cannot exceed that of the battery and will always be less than it.
Reading 2: -
In this case, current has been measured instead of voltage and the multimeter is connected in
series to get the correct reading.
Reading 3: -
In this simulation, the voltage is relatively low because of the large resistance. Note that the
multimeter is connected in parallel to note the value of voltage.
Reading 4: -
In this simulation, the resistance of the circuit is measured by connecting the multimeter in
parallel to the circuit.
Lessons learned:
• Today we learned about very basic terms used in electrical engineering.
(Hammas Naveed)
• We learned about a construction base known as breadboard which is used to check
the circuit before it is permanently made or soldered. (Bilal Kamran)
• We learned about a software known as Tinkercad which is used for studying various
basic level electrical components at a lower stage of study. (M. Hannan)
• We learned about the safety precautions to be followed while working in an electrical
