• You have 60 minutes to write 2 essays.

• Task 1: 150-180 words. 20 minutes. (2-3 minutes planning, 14-


16 minutes writing, 2-3 minutes checking)

• Task 2: 250-300 words. 40 minutes. (5 minutes planning, 30


minutes writing, 5 minutes checking)

Rookie Mistakes!
1. Task 1- Don’t put in your opinion. Only describe what you see.

2. Task 1- Remember to only give the important numbers! When AND how
many!

3. Both tasks- Don’t risk new, fancy vocabulary. You only have to write 2
essays- just memorize, practice, and use the vocabulary from this course.

4. Don’t come unprepared. Read the newspaper at least 3 times a week!


Rookie Mistakes!
5. Remember to read the whole question carefully and underline
key words.

6. Remember to plan.

7. Remember to leave time to check!

8. Focus on the question in Task 2

9. Don’t write too much- time
