Calculating Molar Mass & Empirical Formula

Empirical formula is defined as the whole number ratio of elements that are present in a
compound.
Percent composition (%) is the percent of the total mass of the compound.
Molar mass is the mass of a given chemical element or compound (g) divided by the amount of
substance (mol).
As you notice on our discussion, the Empirical Formula is the simplest whole ratio of a
compound while the molecular formula is the number of molecules present in the compound. And
now you have all the concept on molar mass, Empirical formula, and percent composition, you can
apply this knowledge if you want to get the percent composition present in the food, fertilizers and
some beauty products that we encounter in our daily lives.
