Dear John Connolly,
I’m writing to you for a school project. In school we were asked to pick our
favourite/ most inspiring author and I decided to write to you!

In school my teacher encourages us to read a variety of books. I had just

finished the Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness, when my teacher
recommended your book Conquest. It normally takes me a few weeks to read a
book, but I finished Conquest in three days. This shows how good it is.

My favourite character would be Paul Kerr because of his ambition to keep his
younger brother Steven, out of danger and how he did his best to keep Syl and
Ani safe. I was wondering, where do you get your inspiration from? Your Idea
of Illyri was very enhancing, what inspired you to use them in your story?

I would love to grow up and be a great author like you are. Do you have any
advise or tips you would use to write a successful story. If so, please contact me
because this would help me a lot.
