GOODS
 The ownership of goods can be
transferred from one person to
another.
 There is a consistency in goods
because every different customer
will still get a standardized demand.
 You can keep the goods in stock as
inventory.
 Can be returned, once purchased.
 Goods can and cannot be
perishable.
 Goods can be produced exactly the
same product.
 Goods can still be purchased without
the customer physically.
 There is a gap between production
and consumption of goods.
 It is easy to compare the quality of
goods to the other goods.
 The goods are objective.
SERVICES
 The ownership of services cannot be
transferred from one person to
another.
 There is inconsistency in services
because for every different customer
there is a different demand.
 You cannot keep services in stock as
inventory.
 Once the services are provided, it
cannot be returned to the provider.
 Services are perishable.
 Services provide a different service
based on the customers’
preferences.
 Services need an involvement of the
customer who needs it.
 Production and consumption of
services happen at the same time.
 It is difficult to distinguish the quality
of services offered.
 The services are subjective.
