OBJECTIVES:

➤Review and practice the “Simple Past Tense”, regular and irregular verbs, through
different kinds of activities using the four skills.

➤Answer questions about your last weekend.

➤Do a listening comprehension activity called “My last holiday”.

➤Check, learn and put into practice some vocabulary related to “Holidays”.

➤Start working on a writing project: “My last holidays”.

To break the ice after a long

weekend, ask your sts questions
1st Class about what they did.

Start the lesson:

-Copybook / Folder routine.

-Listening Comprehension Activity

Tell your sts that they should listen

to the audio and say if the
statements are “True” or “False”.

-Check the exercise online. You

Next, draw two big suitcases on

the board.

Write “Regular Verbs” on one of

them and “Irregular Verbs” on the
other one.

Next, write the following verbs on

the board. Tell your sts that the
verbs were taken from the
previous task. Kids should write
1st Class each verb on the correct suitcase:

Planned- decided- saved- had-

was- went- asked- hoped- stayed-
were- gave- said- got- told-

-Check meaning and

pronunciation, if it is necessary.

-Control the whole practice

together.

Divide the class into two groups.
Watch this short film.
They take turns to answer
properly.

After that, ask pupils what they

remember about the short film:
characters, situations, places and
2nd Class verbs in the past.

-Read, check and learn some new
words and actions related to our
last holidays.

Write appropriate vocabulary on

the board:

*go on holiday.

*travel by plane, by car, by train

or by bus.

*journey.

*stay in a hotel.

-Read the sample essay about

“Your last Holidays”, how to plan
your writing, the organization and
the connectors that they have to
use when they write.

Do the exercises on the same

-Kids start organizing their piece

of writing.

Monitor their job.

Next week, pupils should continue
working on this project and send
you a raft copy. Check it and give
them back with corrections.

Finally, sts write their final version.
