What are Investments?
An investment is an asset or item acquired with the goal
of generating income or appreciation. Appreciation
refers to an increase in the value of an asset over time.
Investments can be made in a variety of assets, including
stocks, bonds, real estate, and commodities.
Here are some examples of investments:
• Stocks: Stocks represent ownership in a company.
When you buy a stock, you are essentially buying a
small piece of the company. Stocks can appreciate in
value over time, and they can also generate income
through dividends.
• Bonds: Bonds are loans that you make to a company
or government. When you buy a bond, you are
essentially lending money to the issuer of the bond.
Bonds typically pay a fixed interest to be considered
lower investments than stocks.

10
• Real estate: Real estate is a physical asset that can
appreciate in value over time. It can also generate
income through rent payments. However, real
estate is also a illiquid asset, meaning that it can be
difficult to sell quickly.
• Commodities: Commodities are raw materials such
as oil, gold, and wheat. Commodities can be a good
investment if you believe that the price of the
commodity will increase in the future. However,
commodities are also a volatile investment, meaning
that their prices can fluctuate wildly.
When choosing investments, it is important to consider
your risk tolerance and your investment goals. If you are
looking for a low-risk investment, then bonds may be a
good option for you. If you are looking for a higher-risk
investment with the potential for greater returns, then
stocks or real estate may be a better choice.
It is also important to diversify your investments. This
means investing in a variety of assets, so that you are not
too exposed to any one asset class. By diversifying your
investments, you can reduce your risk and increase your
chances of achieving .

11
The best investment for you will depend on your individual
circumstances and risk tolerance. It is important to do your
research and talk to a financial advisor before making any
investment decisions.
Here are some of the best investments to consider in 2023:
• High-yield savings accounts: These accounts offer higher
interest rates than traditional savings accounts.
• Short-term certificates of deposit (CDs): CDs offer a
guaranteed return for a set period of time.
• Series I bonds: These bonds are inflation-protected, which
means that their value will increase with inflation.
• Short-term corporate bond funds: These funds offer higher
interest rates than government bonds.
• Dividend stock funds: These funds invest in companies that
pay dividends, which can provide you with a steady stream
of income.
• Value stock funds: These funds invest in companies that
are trading at a discount to their intrinsic value.
• REIT index funds: These funds invest in real estate
investment trusts (REITs), which are companies that own
and operate income-producing real estate.

Share and share capital
Shares and share capital are two terms that are often used
interchangeably, but they actually have different meanings.
• Shares are units of ownership in a company. When you buy
shares of a company, you are essentially buying a small piece of
the company. The more shares you own, the larger your
ownership stake in the company.
• Share capital is the total amount of money that a company has
raised by selling shares. It is the sum of the par value of all the
shares that have been issued. The par value of a share is the
nominal value of the share, which is the price that the company
originally sold the share for.
• For example, let's say a company sells 1,000 shares at $10 per
share. The par value of each share is $10, so the share capital of
the company would be $10,000.
There are two main types of share capital: common stock and
preferred stock.
• Common stock is the most basic type of share capital. Common
shareholders have the right to vote on company matters and to
receive dividends, if any.
• Preferred stock has some features that are similar to common
stock, but it also has some special features. For example,
preferred shareholders often have the right to receive dividends
before common shareholders.

17
Stock Exchange Of India
There are currently 23 stock exchanges in India, of
which the top 10 are:

• Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE)

• Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in India
• National Stock Exchange of India (NSE)
• National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) in India
• Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE)
• Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) in India
• India International Exchange
• India International Exchange (India INX) in India

18
Traditional/Offline method of stock exchange:
The traditional or offline method of stock
exchanges is a system where traders place their
orders through a broker who then executes the
orders on their behalf. This method of trading is still
used today, but it has been largely superseded by
online trading.
• Here are some of the key features of offline
trading:
• Brokers: Traders need to work with a broker to
place their orders. The broker will have access
to the stock exchange and will be able to
execute the orders at the best possible price.
• Telephone: Orders are placed over the
telephone. This can be a time-consuming
process, especially if the market is volatile.
• Paperwork: Traders need to keep a record of
their trades in paper format. This can be a
cumbersome process, especially if they are
trading frequently.

19
Indian Depository
Indian depository is a financial institution that holds securities
on behalf of investors. There are two main Indian depositories:
• Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL)
• National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL)
• CDSL and NSDL are both regulated by the Securities and
Exchange Board of India (SEBI). They offer a variety of
services to investors, including:
• Holding securities in electronic form
• Transferring securities between investors
• Paying dividends and interest
• Providing voting rights to investors
• Indian depositories are an important part of the Indian
securities market. They allow investors to hold securities in
a safe and secure manner, and they make it easy for
investors to trade securities.

20
Brokerage:
A brokerage is a company that facilitates transactions between buyers
and sellers of financial assets. Brokers are compensated for their
services by charging commissions or fees.
There are many different types of brokerages, including:
• Stock brokerages: These brokerages allow investors to buy and
sell stocks, bonds, and other securities.
• Commodity brokerages: These brokerages allow investors to buy
and sell commodities, such as oil, gold, and wheat.
• Futures brokerages: These brokerages allow investors to buy and
sell futures contracts, which are agreements to buy or sell an
asset at a future date at a predetermined price.
• Options brokerages: These brokerages allow investors to buy and
sell options contracts, which give the holder the right, but not the
obligation, to buy or sell an asset at a future date at a
predetermined price.
Brokerages can be either online or traditional. Online brokerages offer
a lower cost of entry, but they may not offer the same level of customer
service as traditional brokerages. Traditional brokerages typically offer
more personalized service, but they may charge higher fees.
When choosing a brokerage, it is important to consider your needs and
goals. If you are a beginner investor, you may want to choose an online
brokerage with low fees. If you are a more experienced investor, you
may want to choose a traditional brokerage with more personalized
service.

21
Primary and secondary market:
The primary market and the secondary market are two different types
of financial markets. The primary market is where new securities are
issued and sold for the first time. The secondary market is where
existing securities are traded between investors.
• Primary Market
• the primary market is where companies raise capital by issuing
new securities, such as stocks, bonds, or other financial
instruments. When a company goes public, it sells shares of its
stock to investors in the primary market. This is known as an
initial public offering (IPO).
• The primary market is important for companies because it allows
them to raise capital to finance their growth. It is also important
for investors because it gives them the opportunity to buy new
securities that have the potential to appreciate in value.
• Secondary market
The secondary market is where existing securities are traded between
investors. This market is also known as the "stock market" or the
"exchange". The secondary market allows investors to buy and sell
securities that have already been issued.
• The secondary market is important for investors because it allows
them to buy and sell securities quickly and easily. It also allows
investors to buy and sell securities that they believe are under.

22
What is an IPO and its allocation process?
an IPO, or initial public offering, is the first time that a
company's shares are offered for sale to the public. This allows
the company to raise capital from investors and to become
listed on a stock exchange.
The allocation process for an IPO is typically as follows:
• The company files a prospectus with the Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC). This document provides
investors with information about the company, such as its
financial performance, management team, and business
prospects.
• The company sets a price range for the IPO shares.
• The company opens the IPO for subscription. Investors can
submit bids for the number of shares they want to buy.
• The IPO is allocated to investors. The allocation is typically
based on a lottery system, with priority given to larger
bids.
• The IPO shares are listed on a stock exchange and begin
trading.

23
Target and stop loss:
Target and stop loss are two important concepts in trading.
They are used to help traders manage their risk and profits.
• Target is the price at which a trader wants to sell a security
to realize a profit.
• Stop loss is the price at which a trader wants to sell a
security to limit a loss.
When a trader places a target order, they are essentially saying
that they are willing to sell a security at a certain price, no
matter what happens in the market. This can be a good way to
lock in profits, but it also means that the trader will miss out on
any further gains if the price of the security continues to rise.
A stop loss order is designed to protect a trader from losing too
much money on a trade. When the price of a security reaches
the stop loss price, the order is automatically executed and the
security is sold. This can help to limit the trader's losses, even if
the market continues to decline.
It is important to set realistic target and stop loss prices. If the
target price is too high, the trader may never reach it. If the
stop loss price is too low, the trader may sell the security too
early and miss out on further gains.

Large cap , mid-cap, and small-cap are terms used to categorize
companies based on their market capitalization, which is the
total value of a company’s outstanding shares of stock. Market
capitalization is calculated by multiplying the company’s stock
price by the number of outstanding shares. Here’s an overview
of the differences between these three categories:
Large-Cap:
• Large-cap companies are typically the largest and most
established firms in the market.
• They have a high market capitalization, often in the
billions or tens of billions of dollars.
• Large-cap companies are usually well-known, household
names with a long track record of success.
• Due to their size and stability, large-cap companies tend to
be less volatile compared to mid and small-cap stocks.
• They may pay dividends to their shareholders and are
often seen as more conservative investment options.
• Examples of large-cap companies include Apple Inc.,
Microsoft Corporation, and Amazon.com Inc.

26
Mid-Cap:
• Mid-cap companies fall in between large-cap and small-cap
companies in terms of market capitalization.
• Their market capitalization is generally in the range of a few
hundred million to several billion dollars.
• Mid-cap companies are typically in a phase of growth and
expansion, seeking to increase market share and profitability.
• While they are more established than small-caps, they may still
have higher growth potential compared to large-caps.
• Mid-cap stocks tend to have a moderate level of volatility and can
offer a balance between growth and stability.
• Examples of mid-cap companies include Lyft Inc., Etsy Inc., and
Pinterest Inc.
Small-Cap:
• Small-cap companies are the smallest publicly traded companies
in terms of market capitalization.
• They often have market capitalization ranging from a few million
to a few billion dollars.
• Small-cap stocks are usually younger, less established companies
with higher growth potential but also higher risk.
• Due to their smaller size and sometimes limited financial
resources, small-cap stocks can be more volatile and susceptible
to market fluctuations.
• Investing in small-cap stocks can offer the possibility of significant
returns, but it comes with a higher level of risk.
• Examples of small-cap companies include CarParts.com Inc., Acme
United Corporation, and Legacy Education Alliance Inc.

27
TECHNICAL ANALYSIS

• Technical analysis is a trading discipline that uses historical price

data and volume data to identify patterns and trends that can be
used to predict future price movements. Technical analysts
believe that past price movements can be a reliable indicator of
future price movements, and they use this information to make
trading decisions.
• There are two main types of technical analysis: chart patterns and
technical indicators.
• Chart patterns are visual representations of price movements that
can be used to identify potential trading opportunities. Some
common chart patterns include the head and shoulders pattern,
the double bottom pattern, and the triangle pattern.
• Technical indicators are mathematical formulas that are used to
analyze price and volume data. Some common technical
indicators include the moving average, the relative strength index
(RSI), and the stochastic oscillator.
• Technical analysis can be a powerful tool for traders, but it is
important to remember that it is not a foolproof method. There is
no guarantee that technical analysis will always be accurate, and
traders should always use it in conjunction with other factors,
such as fundamental analysis, to make trading decisions.

frustrate clients who rely on fast, and efficient execution of

otherwise interns provide wrong or ungenuine data.
• Provide t-shirts to interns with the logo of Globe Capital so that at the time of collecting leads
or data or marketing people will notice that, and it will help in creating new approaches.
• Not everyone should have soft behavior toward the interns otherwise they will not take
seriously seniors’ one word
