What role can top management play in helping a company achieve superior efficiency, quality,
innovation, and responsiveness to customers?

Top management have a critical role and are responsible to create and deliver the strategies to be
implemented for the company to reach and exceed goals. Management owns the development of
mission, vision, values, policies, objectives, the business model, and plans, which will be
communicated as business priorities to all the organizations within the company. Management
will set the expectations on what the customer demand will be and will develop models to supply
this demand.

To reach the efficiency and effectiveness needed, the top management will need to develop
strategies to be able to produce the goods the best and cheap way. They will also need to allocate
the resources and a precise, well communicated set of guidelines, to get economies of scale and
experience curve for employee to improve productivity over time while saving time and costs.

Top management is also responsible secure all goods have the necessary quality by ensuring
everyone is aligned with a set of standards, guidelines, programs, and processes are followed.
They will also need to support and encourage cooperation and understanding between teams, and
incentivize the delivery of high quality, on time and cost-effective goods. Setting high quality
standards will reduce company cost, increase profitability, and increase efficiency too.

Organizations and management needs to continuously innovate, create and improve goods to be
able to maintain and exceed competition. Top management needs to play the role of change
driver and will need to make accommodations and influence on new developments activities to
reach the desired outcome. Management will first need to have and express a clear vision on the
strategy to reach and enhance new creations and then build or have in place a way to encourage
and award employees to innovate. Customers always expect their needs are fully satisfied, if a
company doesn’t innovate on time, it will loss a portion of the business. Companies need to
differentiate and get competitive advantage with new foods, that eventually will translate on
revenues and wins for them.

To secure a positive customer responsiveness, top management will need to understand and
know their customers, what customers’ needs, what is the experience customers have with the
goods and services the company deliver to them. Customer can be loyal or be dissatisfied with
the company, both types are equality important as bring useful information to improve
responsiveness. Top management just need to set a plan and process to get customer feedback,
and to use this insight and leverage to develop actionable ways to better growth market, to
improve customer satisfaction and review, reset business strategies ad goals.
All these aspects of the business, the overall business efficiency, the quality of products and
processes, the constant innovation and the understanding of the customer experience will need to
be closely planned, developed, implemented, monitored, and continuously optimized for a
company to be able to reach and exceed targets, and to growth market share.
