Rex is curled up in the dark corner of the unlit cell with only light from outside streaming
in between the cell rails.

INT. REX’S HOUSE/ KITCHEN – DAY

Grace can be seen attending to dishes on the sink and Rex walks in the room.

Rex: Good morning, Ma.

Grace: Walang maganda sa umaga.

Rex takes a seat on the table and fiddles with his phone.

Rex: Kain na po.

Grace: Mauna ka na – O, mamantika yan. Alalahin mo, may sakit ka sa puso.

Rex: Opo, Ma.

INT. REX’S HOUSE/ LIVING ROOM – DAY

Rex comes home from school and approaches Grace in the living room.

Rex: Ma, may dance rehearsal po kami.

Grace: Hindi, dito ka lang.

Rex: Dun nalang ako kayna Tita Jean.

Grace: Alanganin na, maggagabi narin.

Rex: *Dismayed look*

INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT

Rex comes home late from a gig.

Grace: At san ka naman galing ng gantong oras?

Rex: Rumaket po, Ma.

Grace: Gusto mo magaya sa tatay mo? Bangkay sa kalsada?

Rex: *Padabog pumasok sa kwarto*

INT. REX’S HOUSE/ LIVING ROOM – DAY

Rex is heading over to a friend-classmate’s birthday party.

Grace: San punta mo?

Rex: Birthday ng kaklase ko.

Grace: Diba may pasok ka?

Rex: …

Grace: Ano, nagpapabaya ka na sa pag-aaral?

Rex: Hind, Ma.

Grace: Oh, ano? Na-

Rex: Di mo maiintindihan, Ma!

Grace: Aba, bastos kanang bata ka, hindi kita pinalaki ng ganyan para-

Rex: Ma, alam ko na yan! Lagi nalang ako ang mali, lahat nalang bawal! Porket di niyo
ako maintindihan, kulang nalang, mamatay ako!

Grace: *Slaps him* Wala kang utang na loob, lumayas ka!

Rex: *Walks out crying*

Lead Voice: *Simula noon, tuluyan akong napariwara.*

INT. BAR – NIGHT

Rex frequents the club at night together leisurely having fun with his “friends”, drinking,
smoking, and hitting on fellow “clubbers”.

Rex staring at a mirror, confused.

Lead Voice: *Nalilito at pilit na hinahanap ang sarili. Saan ba ako lulugar sa mundong
ibabaw? Di katagalan ay nalaman ko din ang kasagutan.”

EXT. STREETS – DAY

Rex commits a crime by snatching a phone and a bag from a passerby and runs away
with it. He got caught and thrown in jail by local authorities.

Stranger: Hoy! Ibalik mo yan!

INT. JAIL CELL - DAY

Back to the present where Rex currently is.

Rex: Mama, tulong…

INT. DETENTION FACILITY – DAY

Grace came to get his son and take him home with her.

Officer: Mister Rex Estacio, makakauwi ka na.

Rex: Ma, ano po ginagawa niyo dito?

Grace: Sinusundo ka!

Rex: Hindi po ba kayo galit sakin?

Grace: Hindi ka sana magkakaganito kung di dahil sakin.

Rex: I’m sorry, Ma…

Grace: *Comforts Rex with her touch*
