LG ConnectedCare License
ENGLISH

To connect a device to LG ConnectedCare and use all functions without restrictions, a license must be
assigned to the device. The account manager can purchase and use licenses after making a request through
LG Sales.

LG ConnectedCare License Policy

• LG ConnectedCare license is only applicable to webOS and Display type devices. Other type of devices -
Windows and Android - don’t require license assignment to view or control its detail.
• If you connect the device to LG ConnectedCare and do not assign a license, device detail view is not
supported.
• When a device is newly connected to LG ConnectedCare and 30 days pass without assigning a license/30
days have passed since the license connected to the device expires, the device is automatically deleted from
LG ConnectedCare.
• When an account manager purchases a license, the license is valid for three years from the date of
purchase. Within the validity period, the manager can assign licenses to devices connected to LG
ConnectedCare, and after the validity period, the license expires and can no longer be used.
• Licenses, once assigned and activated, are valid for the purchased period from the date of activation.
• Even if the device to which the license is assigned is deleted, the license is not deleted and can be used it by
granting it to other devices until the license expiration date.
• Account manager can set up automatic license assignment. When a new device is connected to an account
that has license auto-assignment set on, a valid license is automatically assigned to the device.

NOTE
• When automatically assigning licenses, licenses are assigned according to license assignment priority. If
there are multiple available licenses or the expiration dates of the available licenses are the same, the
following rules apply. The first condition has the highest precedence, and sub-conditions are applied in lower
order.
-- Assign license in order of near expiration date
-- Assign licenses that have never been assigned before
-- Assign license in order of license purchase date
• If the number of available licenses is less than the number of newly connected devices, the number
of remaining licenses will be assigned to devices if the account setting is Auto License Assignment. If
you’re assigning directly from an account that doesn’t have auto-assign licenses turned on, your license
assignment request will be rejected if the license is not enough. You should try assigning licenses only for
the remaining number of licenses.

When checking the [Device Management] page with the [Group(s)] structure tree, when clicking the account
manager name in the [Group(s)] structure tree area, you can check a list of devices to which the group is
ENGLISH

assigned among all devices to which the account manager has permission. In the [Site] structure tree area,
only devices that have been group-set can have a group. Even if the account manager has more than one
device with permission, if there is no device assigned to a group, click the account manager name in the
group(s) structure tree and the following notification will appear.

When clicking the [Group(s)] menu at the top of the [Group(s)] structure tree, the topmost account
manager's group in the [Group(s)] structure tree is switched to the device list page. When the user reaches
the desired [Group(s)], the device list is filtered by group. Select a specific subgroup under [Account
Manager] to check a list of devices assigned to that group. When clicking [Operation Settings] at the top
of the device list, you can set [Operation Time], [Threshold], [Auto Cloning Data], and [Auto Update]. In the
[Operation Settings] menu, you can set internal business policies and efficiently manage devices in the same
group.
37

[Operation Time]
After entering the [Operation Settings] menu, you can specify Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) for devices

in [Group(s)] and set the start and end times for each day of the week.

NOTE
• The operation time must be set to enable device issue history that is recorded in the [Dashboard].

[Threshold]
After entering the [Operation Settings] menu, you can set [Trouble Notice by Threshold Exceed] and
[Threshold Settings] for devices in [Group(s)].
• [Trouble Notice by Threshold Exceed]: Click the [Add] button of the [Trouble Notice by Threshold Exceed]
to set up to 3 email and message types to receive failure notifications per group.
• [Threshold Settings]: Click the [Edit] button of [Threshold Settings] to set the threshold value to determine
the device status for every 23 items as a warning or error. It is possible to set [Enable] and [Email
Notification] for the threshold items. [Email Notification] can be selected as On only when [Enable] is
selected as On. However, for some items whose threshold category is set to Self-diagnosis, the user cannot
directly set the threshold, and only set [Enable] and [Email Notification]. CPU Temp. (Mediaplayer), Display
Temp., Sensor (Humidity), Sensor (Door Open) can be set by the user, but the category is Self-diagnosis.

NOTE
• To receive device failure notifications by email, set the email notification in [Threshold Settings] to On, and
register at least one email to receive in [Trouble Notice by Threshold Exceed].
38

If you check the device failure threshold criteria table below, you can refer to the threshold settings by
checking the recommended warning level and recommended error level for each item. By checking the

description of each item, you can determine whether to enable thresholds and whether to receive email
notifications. For solutions for each item, when an issue occurs, it must be checked first to resolve it.

Since the threshold can be managed in a group unit, it is necessary to establish and manage the internal

failure in the following two cases.

-- When an abnormal temperature for the 3rd generation LED Signage model is observed
-- When there is a problem with the fan of the housing model
If P01 is enabled and the issue occurs, go to the corresponding device [Details] page, then a device
abnormality detection pop-up appears. If an abnormality detection pop-up appears, you can check and
respond to detailed abnormality information in [Diagnosis] on the device [Details] page.

In particular, among the threshold setting items, the Display Temperature (device failure code O03) and FAN
(device failure code Y31) are largely influenced by the model group and model. If careful issue management
is required for the Display Temperature items among the thresholds, set the group differently for each model
group (general type, outdoor type) or by model (general model, outdoor type > window facing, outdoor type
> open frame, outdoor facing > housing) during Set a Group. For device failure code O03 in the threshold list,
set the threshold by referring to “Temperature Priority by Model” for “Temperature Sensor Type by Model
