The AMK4100 Ultra•Tag/Ultra•Lite Hand Held
detacher makes it easy to remove a variety of anti-
theft products from the merchandise they protect.
This detacher sits on the point-of-sale counter for
normal use and is hand held for removal of tags on
bulky merchandise.
The locking key disables the detacher to prevent
unauthorized removal of tags.
The AMK4100 detacher is compatible with the
entire Ultra•Tag/Ultra•Lite line of products and is
compatible with most standard magnetic products.

General Guidelines
WARNING: Use care when handling
metal objects near the detacher. The
detacher includes a strong magnet that
could pinch fingers and cause injury.
CAUTION: Magnetic detachers produce
a permanent magnetic field around the
tag detaching point. This can have an
effect on other items such as magnetic
stripe cards, video tapes, CRTs, and
some implanted medical devices. When
using the detacher, ensure that magnetic
stripe cards, video tapes, and CRTs do
not come within 10cm (4in) and that
exposure of the torso of the operator is
more than 15cm (6in) away during
normal operation. As a general matter,
we always recommend that patients
using medical implant devices seek, and
follow, advice from their doctors on such
subjects.
In rare instances deactivated labels may
be reactivated when they pass within
8cm (3in) of the detacher’s magnetic
surface.

1. Position the merchandise so that the release
bulb is accessible and faces down.

2. Place the release bulb into the detacher’s tag 4. Remove the pin from the merchandise and
nest. place the pin into the appropriate container.

3. Gently separate the pin and merchandise from

the tag. 5. Remove the tag from the detacher and place it
into the appropriate container.

Unlock a Tag from Bulky

Merchandise
1. Hold the detacher in the palm of your hand.

If rebound pressure prevents the pin’s release,

press down on the pin to relieve the pressure
and unlock the pin.

2. Extend the coiled or lanyard security cable to

the tagged merchandise.

3. Place the tag nest over the release bulb on the
tag. Use the Locking Key
The locking key uses a tag nest plug to prevent an
unauthorized user from removing a tag. The
locking key is required to remove the plug from the
detacher.

4. Remove the tag and place it in the appropriate
container.
5. Place the detacher back on the counter for Unlock the Detacher
normal use. 1. Depress and hold down the lock release button.
2. Continue to hold down the lock release button
and insert the locking key into the tag nest plug.
Unlock Other Anti-Theft
Products
The AMK4100 detacher is compatible with a
variety of anti-theft products that protect items in
different ways.
To unlock these products, place the release bulb
into the detacher’s tag nest. For bulky items, place
the detacher’s tag nest over the release bulb. The
release bulb may look different for different
products.

3. Release the lock release button when the key is

fully inserted into the plug.
4. Pull the locking key and plug out of the
detacher.

Refer to the user guide provided with each product

for specific information about how to use it. The detacher is now ready to use.
5. Place the locking key with attached tag nest
plug in a secure location.

Lock the Detacher
1. Place the locking key with attached tag nest
plug into the detacher’s tag nest.
2. Depress and hold down the lock release button.
3. While holding down the lock release button,
remove the locking key from the tag nest plug.
The tag nest plug remains in place to prevent
unauthorized use of the detacher.
4. Place the locking key in a secure location.
