 Society for Conservation of Domestic Animal Biodiversity (SOCDAB)
and NTR College of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram, Sri Venkateswara
Veterinary University (SVVU), Tirupati are jointly organizing the XXI Annual
Convention of Society for Conservation of Domestic Animal Biodiversity
(SOCDAB) and National Seminar on “Animal production systems and its role
in sustainable use of AnGR” on 15th – 16th February. 2024.
The Society for Conservation of Domestic Animal Diversity (SOCDAB)
was established in the year 1998 at ICAR-National Bureau of Animal Genetic
Resources (NBAGR), Kamal. The objectives of the society are to create
awareness about domestic animal diversity, judicious use of animal wealth,
promote research & education and to provide a platform for the researchers,
teachers, policy planners, stake holders and field functionaries for conservation
of indigenous animal genetic resources.
National AnGR Quiz Competition
A National level quiz competition for UG students of SAU/SVU will be
held and prior to the National Quiz, four zonal quiz competition will be held.
The students will be quizzed on “Livestock Biodiversity of India and Its
conservation”. The zonal winners (teams of 2 students +1 mentor) shall be
competing during the conference. Travel grant for the Zonal winners (students
only) to attend the National Symposium 2023 by Railway (AC-3 Tier), will be
provided by the SOCDAB society.
Research Awards and Opportunities
Best Oral and Poster Presentation:
To encourage researchin the thematic areas among the researchers,
Society confers different awards to the participants. The first and second
best oral and poster presentations in each technical session will be awarded
with cash prize and certificates.
SOCDAB Fellow Award (2024) :
Society had invited the application on the prescribed format. Applications
will be judged based on the score card for SOCDAB-FELLOW, being circulated
separately by the society.
Young Scientist Award (2024) :
To inspire the young researchers, SOCDAB has the 'Young Scientist
Award'. Lead/First Author must be below 35 years of age (as on 01.01.2024)
and life member of the Society. Full paper should be submitted with marked Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University
clearly as “For Young Scientist Award”. Authorship is limited to two only and

Call for Papers :
Research papers/abstracts to be presented in the national seminar on
the themes detailed below. The full length papers / abstracts are to be
submitted to the Organising Secretary on or before 15th December, 2023.
Full length papers should be limited to ten pages and abstracts to be limited
to 300 words typed in 12 font size (Times New Roman) in 1.5 line spacing.
Papers or abstracts may be sent via email (socdab2024@gmail.com)
as an attachment. The name of the presenting author should be in bold.
These should contain the objectives of the study brief methodology, results
and conclusion. Selected papers will be considered for oral presentation
and the remaining will be allotted for poster presentation. Poster size should
be 850 mm (breadth) x 1200 mm (length).
