Dear Parents,

At Podar Prep we believe in strong parent partnership where family members are also equally involved
in the formative years of their child.

We do not focus on just reading and writing but also focus on holistic development which is essential
for your child.

As a partner of Podar Prep and as a parent, you too can contribute to extend the learning and
development of your child outside school.

In today’s time where gadgets like Mobile phones, I pad, digital cameras etc. play a pivotal role, and
Podar Prep brings to you this unique Treasure Hunt where children and their families can come
together, incorporate these gadgets and yet have a great time.

Let’s see how you all will contribute in enhancing the holistic development of your child's learning and
development while you are on the Treasure Hunt.

 Your child will learn to read all the signs and direction boards as sight reading.
 Your child will understand the distance between two places while travelling from one place to
the other.
 Treasure Hunt is a project for the child where he/she will get the sense of responsibility to
complete the project. Your child will learn how to work in a team and will develop a sense of
achievement when the task is completed.
 Your child will learn new words and develop his/her vocabulary by communicating with you
during the Treasure Hunt.
 Your child will get a better understanding of the physical world around him/her while going from
one place to the other.
 Once your child comes to school, he/she will be asked to share his/her own experience about the
treasure hunt by drawing on a blank sheet of paper which will be documented by the teacher.
 Last but not the least; these will be precious moments spent with your child that will be
cherished forever.

Voila! A Holistic Development is achieved through a simple yet innovative Treasure Hunt.

 GUIDE TO TREASURE HUNT WITH FAMILY

Given below are 10 topics of interesting visiting places in your city/town.

a. Post office.
b. Library.
c. Factory.
d. Museum.
e. Historical place/monument.
f. Famous tourist places.
g. Botanical garden/Nursery.
h. Farm.
i. Nature Reserve.
j. Fire station.

1. Select a minimum of 5 topics to make your project.

2. Spend time and take your child to each venue that you have selected.
3. Explore the venue with your child and click your child's photo near/at the venue with your
favorite digital gadget.
4. Talk to your child about the experience and if possible document it.
5. Creatively put together the photos and the documentation of your child’s thoughts and you can
submit this compilation to the class teacher by 27th November, please ensure that your child is
actively involved in this compilation. Let your child choose where to stick the photo and design
it.
6. Special certificate will be given to all participants.
7. You may even make a short film about it, but remember to use your home digital gadgets.
(Video camera, digital camera, mobile phone camera, tablet etc.)
8. PLEASE DO NOT CHEAT USING PHOTOSHOP OR ANY SUCH EASY IDEAS!
9. Do not beautify the special moment spent with your child.
