It allows user to send and receive voice and text messages

plus also allows to make video and voice calls; moreover,
allows the user to share documents, user location, images, and other content.

AVAILABLE FORMS:

WhatsApp user application runs on mobile devices but it can also be accessed from desktop computers, laptops,
until the user’s mobile remains connected to the internet while they are using desktop app. The service requires a
cellular mobile telephone number to sign up. One can also use Blue Stacks for using WhatsApp on PCs and
Laptops.

WHATSAPP BUSINESS:

In January 2018, WhatsApp released a standalone (separate) app for business targeted at small business owners,
called WhatsApp Business, to form a link between companies and patrons and to allow companies to communicate
with patrons who use the standard WhatsApp client.

The client application was designed by WhatsApp Inc. of Mountain View, California, which was purchased by
Facebook in February 2014 for about US$ 19.3 billion.

It has also become a primary way of internet communication in multiple locations, including Latin America, the
large areas of Europe and Africa, and the Indian sub-continent.

APP:
Over 2 billion people in more than 180 countries use WhatsApp to communicate with family, friends and other
people, anywhere and anytime. It is free, secure and offers simple reliable calling and messaging, accessible on
phone all over the world.

 The name is pun on the phrase What’s Up.

 Data charges may charge.

The name was given by Koum.

MISSION:
WhatsApp started as a substitute to SMS. The product now supports sharing a variety of media: photos, text,
videos, location and documents, as well as voice calls. Some of the user’s personal moments are shared with
WhatsApp, which is why the producers have built end-to-end encryption into this app. So, that people can
communicate around the world without any barrier.

WHATSAPP LOGO:

 SYMBOL:
There are two logos given for WhatsApp. These are;
 The Primary Logo:
The foremost logo features a phone receiver inside a text bubble – the combination shows the
function of app clearly. The text bubble implies instant messaging. It has been probably the most
often logo to display the text messages you receive in a variety of networks and apps. The “tail”
is directing to the right, which represents an incoming message.

 The Second Logo:

The second logo, the telephone receiver, is transparent as the first logo. It signifies that app is used
to make video and voice calls.
The emblem may seem a tad generic. And yet, being so well-known, WhatsApp can afford being
generic. In spite of being so simple, the logo is recognized all over the world due to the app’s
popularity.

 COLOR OF WHATSAPP LOGO:

The two colors of the WhatsApp logo are white and light green (#25D366).
 The shade of green looks bright and vivid. This green color develops a feeling of safety, freshness,
energy and is associated with money.
 The white color makes the emblem crisp and fresh.
Overall, it is a pleasant change from blue color, which is used for social apps and networks so often.
 FONT:
While the primary logo comprises of emblem alone, there also exist versions that include the name of
trademark. It is given in simple sans serif font with flattened vertexes on the “W” AND “A”. The logo
makers decided to eschew the typical “friendly” and “tech” typefaces with rounded corners.
It also has another distinctive feature that the wordmark follows proper capitalization. It makes the word
easier to read and mentally divide in two meaningful parts.

 EMBLEM VERSIONS:
The regular emblem features the white phone receiver inside a green bubble with a white frame and a
light grey outline. The sign can also be used without grey outline when given against the green
background. In some cases, the name of the app can be placed below the emblem or the right.

Transaction Process System (TPS)

A transaction process system (TPS) is an information processing system for business transactions
involving the collection, modification and retrieval of all transaction data. Characteristics of a TPS
include performance, reliability and consistency.

TPS is also known as transaction processing or real-time processing.

A transaction process system and transaction processing are often contrasted with a batch process system
and batch processing, where many requests are all executed at one time. The former requires the
interaction of a user, whereas batch processing does not require user involvement. In batch processing the
results of each transaction are not immediately available. Additionally, there is a delay while the many
requests are being organized, stored and eventually executed. In transaction processing there is no delay
and the results of each transaction are immediately available. During the delay time for batch processing,
errors can occur. Although errors can occur in transaction processing, they are infrequent and tolerated,
but do not warrant shutting down the entire system.

To achieve performance, reliability and consistency, data must be readily accessible in a data warehouse,
backup procedures must be in place and the recovery process must be in place to deal with system failure,
human failure, computer viruses, software applications or natural disasters.

Understand Your Allocated TPS

Through Put per Second (TPS) plays a big role to handle high messaging volumes, based on your selected
plan we have allocated dedicated TPS like 10, 15, 20 to each number

The TPS is calculated based on the following events;

I. Receiving Message
II. Sending Message
III. Getting Delivery Reports
IV. Getting Read Reports

So let's assume that you have 10 TPS this means you can handle upto 10 interactions per second, please
note the delivery and read reports also counted in the TPS limit.

Webhook is responsible to push incoming messages to your server on real time basis

Event Webhook is responsible to push delivery and report reports to your server when it’s available

Push API is responsible to send messages out, recommend to use Webhook Instant reply if you want to
give an instant reply back to the user.

Server Configuration TPS

2 CPU, 2 GB RAM, SSD or IO Optimized Hard disk recommended 10 TPS

4 CPU, 4 GB RAM, SSD or IO Optimized Hard disk recommended 15 TPS

6 CPU, 6 GB RAM, SSD or IO Optimized Hard disk recommended 20 TPS

Groups & Scalability

If you are using WhatsApp Groups in your WhatsApp Official Account then please aware about the
following limitations;

I. WhatsApp Groups is in beta

II. Delivery / Read reports can’t be disabled in Docker

If you have large number of groups and high engaging users in the group this can affect your TPS badly,
see how it affects your TPS;
Let's assume you have 10 Groups with 256 members in each group i.e. total 2560 members and when you
or someone sends a message to the group and when each user reads the message an event webhook will
trigger to your server so one message in a group leads to 2560 event triggers. This will consume your
TPS.

Management Reporting System (MRS)

A management reporting system is a part of a management control system that provides business
information. This information can be in the form of reports and/or statements. The system is designed to
assist members of the management by providing timely pertinent information.

Management reporting systems are the most elaborate of the whatsapp. The main objective of
management reporting systems (MRS) is to provide lower and middle management with printed or
electronic reports and with inquiry capabilities to help maintain operational and management control of
the enterprise.

Characteristics of MRS include:

1. They are usually developed by information systems professionals, rather than by end users, over an
extensive period of time, with the use of life cycle oriented development methodologies as opposed to a
rapid development by first building a simpler prototype system and then refining it in response to user
experience.

2. These systems are build for situations in which information requirements are reasonably well known
and expected to remain relatively stable.

3. MRSs do not directly support the decision-making process as a search for alternative solutions to
problems and the selection of the solution to be implemented.

4. MRSs are oriented toward reporting on the past and the present, rather than projecting the future.

5. MRSs generally have limited analytical capabilities. They are not built around elaborate models, but
rather rely on extraction of data from databases according to given criteria, and on summarization of the
data.

Reporting by Management Report Systems

MRSs may produce reports either directly from a database collected and maintained by a transaction
processing system, or from databases spun off from the central database for the purpose. Separate spin off
databases may be created for several reasons, such as:

1. Avoiding interference and delays in transaction processing

2. Maintaining the security of central databases

3. Economizing by using local databases accessible to local managers to counter heavy

telecommunications costs of working with a central database.

4. Whatsapp also provide end-to-end encryption to its users.

Decision Support System (DSS)
A decision support system (DSS) is a computerized program used to support determinations, judgments,
and courses of action in an organization or a business. A DSS sifts through and analyzes massive amounts
of data, compiling comprehensive information that can be used to solve problems and in decision-making.

Typical information used by a DSS includes target or projected revenue, sales figures or past ones from
different time periods, and other inventory- or operations-related data.

A decision support system produces detailed information reports by gathering and analyzing data. Hence,
a DSS is different from a normal operations application, whose goal is to collect data and not analyze it.

In whatsapp organization, a DSS is used by the planning departments – such as the operations department
– which collects data and creates a report that can be used by managers for decision-making. Mainly, a
DSS is used in operations-related data, and to present information to customers in an easy-to-understand
manner.

One of the main applications of a DSS in an organization is real-time reporting. It can be very helpful for
organizations that take part in just-in-time (JIT) management.

The whatsApp user interface includes tools that help the end-user of a DSS to navigate through the
system.

Geographic Information System (GIS)

A geographic information system (GIS) is a system that creates, manages, analyzes, and maps all types of
data. GIS connects data to a map, integrating location data (where things are) with all types of descriptive
information (what things are like there). This provides a foundation for mapping and analysis that is used
in science and almost every industry. GIS helps users understand patterns, relationships, and geographic
context. The benefits include improved communication and efficiency as well as better management and
decision making.

There are dozens of applications for GIS within the telecommunications industry, all of which stand to
benefit from increased location intelligence and real-time access to asset data.

Integrating GIS into daily operations can help whatsapp organizations to:

 Increase access to and reliability of infrastructure data

 Decrease operating costs

 Improve operational decision-making

 Simplify planning for future networks

 Improve response time to network issues

 Invest resources effectively

Ultimately, these benefits boil down to improving operational efficiency by streamlining daily processes
and increasing access to vital data. Whatsapp also provide map facilities to its users through GIS.

Electronic Payment System (EPS)

An e-payment system is a way of making transactions or paying for goods and services through an
electronic medium, without the use of cheques or cash. It’s also called an electronic payment system
or online payment system.

The electronic payment system has grown increasingly over the last decades due to the growing spread of
internet-based banking and shopping. As the world advances more with technology development, we can
see the rise of electronic payment systems and payment processing devices. As this increase, improve,
and provide ever more secure online payment transactions the percentage of cheques and cash
transactions will decrease.

WhatsApp Pay is an in-chat payment feature that allows users to make transactions via WhatsApp to their
contact list. It is UPI-based payments service that allows you to both send and receive money. It was
developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

When was WhatsApp Pay introduced?

WhatsApp Pay was launched in February 2018 in India as part of a trial run. Payments through
WhatsApp were introduced to a million users under a partnership with ICICI Bank. On February 7, 2020,
the messaging app received NPCI's approval to roll out its digital payment service in a phased manner. In
the first phase, WhatsApp will offer payment services to 10 million users in the country.

How to enable WhatsApp Pay?

To use WhatsApp Pay, a user must initiate a payment to a contact. Once the request is received, the user
can set up their UPI account on WhatsApp.

How to use WhatsApp Pay?

Users can send money directly through chat by tapping on the share file icon and selecting ‘payment’.
The ‘payment’ section is available on the shortcut menu. Users can check their transaction history and
account details in that section. The payment system works on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI)
method, where fund transfers can be initiated without having to provide bank account numbers and IFSC
codes of recipients.

WhatsApp Pay: Modes of transaction

WhatsApp Pay allows users to send money only to their contacts after which it enables UPI ID.
WhatsApp Pay users could enter the UPI ID and send money. Through QR code, WhatsApp users can
also send money to people who are not in their contact list.
