This document provides a risk analysis of two processes involved in going to the grocery store using a Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). The first process is buying items on a checklist, where items may be out of stock with a severity of 5 and occurrence of 4, but substitutions or checking stock are available to detect this. The second process is paying at the counter, where payment failures from shifts or digital payment issues could occur at 4, are moderately severe at 6, but detection is high at 2 through backup payment options.
