To install ArcGIS Desktop, you need to enter the following link:

https://distribuciosoftware.upc.edu/estudiants/ESRI/

Once you have entered the link, you need to introduce your UPC username and password to
access the webpage. After that, you need to download the document “Instrucciones ArcGis
Desktop.pdf” and choose the version you want and download it (ArcGis Desktop v10.8 in English
is recommended). The link is “ArcGis Desktop”, and download:

Then, download ArcGis Desktop 10.8.1.iso and execute it. In the file codi.txt, you will find the
code ESU124170321. Note it down because you will need it onwards, when the software has
been downloaded, to activate the license. This activation code will expire at the end of the
academic year.

To proceed with the installation, continue reading the instructions that you have downloaded.

IMPORTANT WARNING:

Remember that, once you have downloaded the installation package, you need to execute is as
administrator.
 INSTRUCTIONS TO OPEN ARCMAP FILES (.mxd) IN CLASSROOM COMPUTERS AND FOR
SUBMISSIONS.

You will need to save the .mxd document of ArcMap for version 10.5.x (computers’ classrooms
version). To do it, go to ArcMap, open menu “File” and option “Save as a copy”, write a new
name and select “save as type: ArcMap 10.5 Document”.
