Dear Recipient

I am writing to highlight the experiences and skills acquired by Sueda Nadire Özülker, who works as an
Intern Biologist at the National Molecular Microbiology Reference Laboratory under the Ministry of
Public Health, and to emphasize her versatility. I, Dr. Biologist Süleyman YALÇIN, am proud to emphasize
the valuable experiences and capabilities that Sueda has gained during her tenure.

Sueda stands out as a student with a keen curiosity and a remarkable knowledge base in various areas of
molecular biology. She had the opportunity to experience the Sanger sequencing method in our
laboratory. Starting from the PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) stage, she works meticulously. Her
attention to detail during the purification of PCR products and the removal of unwanted components
showcases her precision at every step.

After purifying PCR products, Sueda successfully performs DNA sequencing using cycle sequencing steps.
The effective removal of reagents from previous stages through cycle purification reflects Sueda's
meticulous and careful approach. Her ability to analyze fluorescent-tagged sequences using
chromatography devices like the ABI3500 demonstrates her laboratory skills.

Additionally, Sueda has had the chance to experience next-generation sequencing methods. She
observed library preparation using the Illumina MiSeq platform with the Paragon kit. She learned
amplicon and shotgun-based sequencing procedures with the Oxford Nanopore GridION device. Her
curiosity in genetic sequencing was quite impressive.

Sueda also utilized certain tools and software in the analysis process. She had the opportunity to
experience using significant software like BioEdit, Sophia, and Staden at an entry level.
She has learned to use the Qubit device, conventional PCR, real-time PCR, reverse transcription PCR,
multiplex PCR, agarose gel preparation, and electrophoresis. Additionally, she gained experience in
maintaining MiSeq and NextSeq devices, highlighting her foundational laboratory skills.

She had the chance to experience fragment analysis using the Bioptik Qsep 400 system and conducted
species-level bacterial identification using the MALDI-TOF MS device.

In addition to these skills, Sueda possesses effective communication skills, teamwork abilities, and
problem-solving prowess.

I am pleased to recommend Sueda for projects or positions. Sueda's versatile genetic analysis skills will
undoubtedly make an impact on future projects.

Sincerely,

Süleyman Yalçın
