QC expands free swab testing
through online booking

! April 17, 2021 " 33177

Quezon City residents who wish to undergo

free COVID-19 testing can now book an
appointment online.

“We have opened an online platform so our

residents can come forward and report to us
immediately especially if they are close
contacts of COVID-positive patients or if they
are experiencing any symptoms. So we can
counter and contain the virus as fast as we can,
and on all fronts,” said Mayor Joy Belmonte.

According to the head of the City

Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit
(CESU) Dr. Rolando Cruz, this appointment
system is in addition to the on-ground contact
tracing being done by his team on a daily
basis.

“We are continously finding ways on how to

strengthen and improve our testing efforts.
And as we realize that more residents are
getting sick and need to confirm their status,
we decided to expand this free swab service,”
said Cruz.

To initiate the appointment, interested

individuals should fill out the Reservation
Form found here: http://bit.ly/QCfreetest

Once the form is submitted, a call further

assessing the resident’s condition will be made
by the community-based testing (CBT) verifier.

Lastly, a confirmation text will be sent

notifying the resident of the schedule of his
swab test.

Cruz reminded that swab testing is strictly by

appointment and no walk-ins are allowed.

“Due to the volume of persons we need to test

and the limitation in our test kits supply per
day, we have to allocate our resources to those
who need it the most,”

Residents who will be prioritized for the swab

testing are close contacts or those who were
exposed to COVID-positive patients, those who
are experiencing symptoms, pregnant, dialysis
patients,, and those who will undergo medical
operations and need COVID-19 test results.

The local government is also set to open

additional testing sites to cater to the volume
of residents who need to be tested. The said
sites will be operational as follows: Bistekville
Park 6 (District 5) on April 19; Melencio Castelo
Training Center, MRB Compound (District 2),
Kristong Hari, UP Campus (District 4), Mendoza
Court (District 6), and Brgy. Annex Pingkian
(District 6) on April 21.

As of this writing, the community-based

testing centers in the city are located in the
following: Toro Hills Basketball Court (District
1), Super Health Center Molave (District 2), Old
Balara Covered Court (District 3), Quirino 2B
Barangay Court (District 3), Libis Court E.
Rodriguez Avenue (District 3), Amoranto
Stadium (District 4), Roxas Covered Court
(District 4), 736 People’s Park (District 4), SB
Plaza Novaliches (District 5), Talipapa Senior
High School (District 6) and QCX Museum,
Quezon Memorial Circle.
