SCIENTIFIC COLLABORATOR – CENTER FOR NATIONAL RESEARCH, ITALY, PISA(ITALY)

Learn PAd: Along with Antonia Bertolino, I worked in the European Union Project Learn PAd as a scientific collaborator
with the "Alessandro Faedo" Institute of Information Science and Technology, Pisa (Istituto di Scienza e Tecnologie
dell'Informazione, in Italian) which is one of the premier institutes of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). Learn
PAd is an innovative holistic e-learning platform for Public Administration that enables process-driven learning and
fosters cooperation and knowledge-sharing.

For the team, I developed a Research tool called Business Process Management based e-Learning System(BPMLS)
which can be used to create and deploy various business process for the purpose of educating the users. For the
project I worked with Camunda Engine wrapping it with e-Learning and Learning analytics capabilities along with
RESTful APIs. The tool was developed with Java Spring Boot framework for the core engine and Angular 1 for the

EDUCATION AND TRAINING
11/11/2013 – 04/02/2018 – L'Aquila, Italy
PHD IN COMPUTER SCIENCE – Gran Sasso Science Institute

Thesis on ‘Modelling, Design and Evaluation of a Process-Driven Framework for Workplace e-Learning’. Based on
the concept of “learning by doing", it is about exploiting Business Process Management Systems (BPMS) in designing
e-learning systems for workplace learning. The research work provided the theoretical definition of Learning Path and
the architecture specifications for a Business Process Management Learning Systems (BPMLS). We also
implemented a prototype of BPMLS based on its architectural specification and evaluated it on a pilot study. Followed
by the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to have an evidence-based understanding of how users receive BPMLS as a
new technology for learning. The thesis is part of European Union FP7 project LearnPAd that supports process-driven
collaborative knowledge sharing on a user-friendly basis of wiki pages together with guidance based on formalized
models.
