About the Conference
The conference aims at addressing the core issues which plague the current Humanitarian Law, what are
the imminent and foresighted challenges encountered by the treaties that have been universally ratified
with a special focus as to how efficient are current conventions in urban warfare.

Further, the conference will discuss how the International Refugee Law has evolved as legal protection for
refugees and measures to reduce their grievances but majorly focuses on the issues that are still needed
to be acknowledged to provide this protection entirely.

About the Centre For IHL&HR


The Centre for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law strives to create a research-based
and inquisitive platform for students in this area of law and maintain an academic response to the
persisting as well as contemporary challenges in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law.
this Centre is a adept, agile, and novel platform to create awareness amongst students and academia and
to initiate a dialogue amongst various stakeholders responsible for the plight of the International
community.
About the Nirma University
Nirma University is one of India's leading universities based in Ahmedabad (Gujarat). The University was
established in the year 2003 as a Statutory University under a special act passed by the Gujarat State

About the Institute of Law


Institute of Law was set up under the aegis of Nirma University in the year 2007, with a vision to promote
excellence in the field of legal education and to fulfill the ever increasing demand of quality legal
professionals in a growing legal world. In a short span of time, Institute of Law, Nirma University (ILNU)
marked its distinct place in the map of legal education in the country. At present, ILNU offers B.A.LL.B.
(Hons.), B. Com. LL.B.(Hons.): five year integrated Programs, one year LL.M. Program in different areas,
and a Doctoral Program leading to Ph.D.

IMPORTANT DETAILS
Registration Fees:
The registration fee for the conference is Rs.500/- for those who are
interested to be a member of the conference.

Prizes:
Selected articles shall be published in the conference proceedings with
an authenticated ISBN number, and a copy of the book, as well as a
certificate of publication shall be provided to each selected author.

IMPORTANT DATES

Abstract Submission: 20th February 2023.


Final Paper Submission: 4th March 2023.
Date for the conference: 18th March 2023.

GUIDELINES FOR THE SUBMISSION

The soft copy of the contribution (abstract and final paper) must be sent as attachments in MS
Word format (.doc) or (.docx) and PDF format (.pdf) to "cihls@nirmauni.ac.in;"

The abstract should be typed in Times New Roman, with 1.5 spacing and font size 12 (title font
size 15). It should be submitted latest by February 20, 2023 in soft copy.

The final paper should reach latest by March 4, 2023 in soft copy. Co-authorship is allowed only
up to two authors.

The submission should include a "separate" cover page document which clearly indicates the
name(s) of the author(s), complete mailing address(s), telephone number(s) and email
address(s).

The text of the full paper and abstract must include title of the paper, but must not include the
name(s) of the author(s), as the papers will be blind reviewed.

Only original unpublished work is sought. Any proposal submitted to present identical or
substantially similar work already published or under review for any other publication will not
be considered.

Citations should strictly conform to the rules in The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation
(20th edition).
