The biggest hot desert in the world:The Sahara desert

The Sahara desert is the largest hot desert in the world and it is located on the
African continent.the area of the desert is 9.2 million square meters(3.6 million
sq mi)it covers 31% of Africa ,the third largest desert in the world,only smaller
than Antarctica desert and the northern arctic desert.
Geography
The Sahara desert covers large parts of North African countries such as:
Algeria,chad,Egypt,Libya,mali,Mauritania,Morocco,niger,Western Sahara,Tunisia
It is one of three distinct physiographic province of the African massive
physiographic division.
Several deeply dissected mountains,many volcanic rise from the mountains including
the AÏr mountains,Ahaggar mountains,Saharan atlas,Tibesti mountains
Adrar des iforas,and the Red Sea hills.the highest peak in the Sahara desert is Emi
koussi,a shield volcano in the Tibesti range of northern chad.
Climate
The Sahara is the largest hot desert. It is located in the horse latitude under the
subtropical ridge.a significant belt of semi-permanent subtropical warm-core high
pressure where the air from the upper troposphere usually descends, warming and
drying the lower troposphere and preventing cloud formation.the stability of the
atmosphere above the desert prevents any convective overturning.thus the rainfall
is not a lot in the desert. As a consequence the weather tends to be sunny, dry And
also a minimum chance of rainfall.
Temperature
The sky is usually clear above the desert and the sunshine duration is extremely
high in the desert.most of the desert has more than 3.6K hours of bright sunshine
per year(over 82% of daylight hours), and a wide area in the eastern part has over
4,000 hours of bright sunshine per year (over 91% of daylight hours).
The high position of the sun the extremely low relative humidity and also low
vegetation and very low rainfall has made this the desert the hottest large region
in the world.the average temperature exceeds 38 to 40 degrees centigrades,100.4 to
104.0 degrees F.
Population
Although this desert as large as the United States but it only has 2.5 million
inhabitants and most of them are nomads.which means less than one person per square
mile(0.4 per square kilometers)
The root of the name
The word Sahara is coming from Arabic language and it means desert this one is the
feminine irregular form.singular form ṣaḥra' (‫)صحراء‬, plural ṣaḥārā (‫)َصَح اَر ى‬
