The Teacher Candidate has created developmentally appropriate instruction that is differentiated to address individual students' strengths, interests, and needs
and enables each student to advance and accelerate their learning. The Teacher Candidate used visuals of the vocabulary on the Smartboard. The Teacher
Candidate sent home letters to families about the Human Body Unit.

The Teacher Candidate designs instruction that is specifically tailored to learners’ strengths and learning styles by using visuals to review the vocabulary, pictures of
the body, and a video explaining the skeletal system.

The Teacher Candidate capitalizes on the learning environment in ways that maximize students’ ability to engage in active learning. The Teacher Candidate’s verbal
and nonverbal communication routines are building and becoming more proficient. The Teacher Candidate uses the phrase, “123 Eyes on me” to redirect the
student’s focus back to the lesson. The Teacher Candidate is also very cognizant and purposeful when demonstrating respect/responsiveness related to the diverse
cultural backgrounds of her students.

The Teacher Candidate stimulated student reflection on prior content knowledge and made connections to students. (Asking questions; Reviewing prior learning by
completing a KWL chart). The Teacher Candidate used supplementary resources and technologies effectively to ensure accessibility and relevance to all her
students. (Smartboard and Slides) The Teacher Candidate created opportunities for students to learn and practice a master academic language in the content area.

The Teacher candidates engages students in applying content knowledge to real world problems through the lens of interdisciplinary themes. (The human body; skeletal system and
how the body works) The Teacher Candidate facilitates students’ ability to develop diverse social and cultural perspectives that expand their understanding.

The Teacher Candidate checked for understanding throughout the lesson and completed the “L” of the KWL chart. Students also completed a page in their Human
Body Journals, using a sentence stem students completed a sentence about the lesson.

The Teacher Candidate varied her role during the lesson from instructor to facilitator. The Teacher Candidate engages the students using a range of learning skills
along with digital technology to access and apply information. The Teacher Candidate asked questions to stimulate discussion that serves different purposes.

Teacher Candidate was planning the lesson, she asked for feedback and suggestions from her cooperating teacher. She values her input as it helps me grow as an
