History of GUEVARA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Guevara Elementary School was built on January 18,1907. It had three temporary rooms
made up of nipa and bamboos. Later, a Gabaldon building was constructed and still existing at present.
Then another six rooms were constructed known as the General Services, followed by the 4 Bagong Lipunan
rooms, the DPWH building with 6 rooms, Congressional building and the Shop building.
Guevara Elementary School is situated along the highway going to the South of La Paz and North of
Victoria. It is the second to the biggest school of La Paz North District in terms of population, teachers and
buildings. It is situated on high place where it cannot be easily flooded. The school site was donated by Mrs.
Arcadia Cadamia and Mr. Eustaquio Garcia ,residents of barangay Guevara.
At present, there were 23 permanent teachers that are nationally funded ,a watchman ,a school aide
And a principal II.
The school is the second to the biggest in the district in terms of pupils population with 3 sections for
every grade level. Guevara Elementary School has about eight hundred pupils yearly.
