Introduction
The menstrual cycle is the regular
natural change that occur in the
female reproductive system
{specially the uterus and ovaries}
that makes pregnancy. The cycle is
required for the production of
oocytes, and for the preparation of
the uterus for pregnancy. The
menstrual cycle occur due to the
rise and fall of estrogen. The cycle
result in the thickening of the lining
of the uterus and growth of egg,
{which is required for pregnancy.}

occurs between ages 45 and 55.

Proliferative phases

• The proliferative phases is the part of the

menstrual cycle during which follicles inside the
ovaries develop and mature in preparation for
ovulation. Student teacher explain the Student are able

• It starts when the hypothalamus send a signal to
your pituitary gland to release follicle stimulating
hormones (FHS) this hormones stimulates your
ovaries to produce around 5 to 20 small sacs,
called follicles each follicle contain an mature
egg.

• Increase the level of estrogen. Endometrium is

renewed in the preparation of possible pregnancy.

• Only the healthiest egg will eventually mature.

The rest of follicles will be reabsorbed in your
body.

• The maturing follicle sets off surge in estrogen

that thicken the lining of you uterus. This creates
a nutrient- rich environment for an embryo to
grow.

• The level of FHS increase in the blood stream

during the proliferative phase, stimulating the
maturation of follicles.

• The purpose of the cycle changes is to prepare the

uterine lining, called the endometrium to recevied
a fertilized egg.

• The first phase of the m.c in the uterus is the

proliferative phases, which is followed by the
secretory phases and then by menstruation.

• The proliferative endometrium stages is also

called the follicular phases.

• The term proliferative means that cell multiplying

and spreading.

cycle . • Ovulation is when your body releases a mature of menstrual
egg. The egg travels down the fallopian tube cycle.
toward the uterus to be fertilized by sperm.

• Increase level of progesterone, endometrium is

developed. the phase coincides with the luteal
phase.

• The second half of the menstrual cycle after

ovulation , the corpus luteum secreate progestron
which prepare the endometrium for implantation
of embryo ; if the fertilization does not occur then
menstrual flow begins.

• During the secretory phase of the uterus, the

hormone progestron is produced by ovaries.

• After the follicle releases its egg, it changes into

the corpus luteum. This structure release
hormones, mainly progestrone and some estrogen.
The raise of hormones keeps your uterine lining
thicken and ready for a fertilized egg to implant

• If you do get pregnant, your body will produce

human chorionic gonadotropin {HCG}.

• This is HCG hormones pregnancy test detect.

• It help maintain the corpus luteum and keeps the

uterine lining thick.

• If you don’t get pregnant, the corpus luteum will

shrink away and be reabsorb. this lead to
decreased the level of estrogen and progestron
which cause the onset of your period.

sheds through your vagina.

• During your period, you release a combination of

blood, mucus, and tissue from your uterus.

Summary

I have summarized my topic hormonal cycle

{definition of hormonal cycle, duration of
menstrual cycle, phases of menstrual cycle }

Conclusion
Menstrual cycle has evolved to follow lunar
cycle – 28 days. This however varies month
to month and can be different in different
women.
There is the uterine cycle and the ovarian
cycle
Cycle composed of
Follicular phase
Ovulation
A postovulatory or luteal phase.
