Group Assignment Guidelines

Subject: Environment Management (Sem-I)

Course Instructor: Prof. Romy Sebastian

General Guidelines:
Form a group or minimum 3 and maximum 5 students from your division only.
Each group will prepare report on selected topic and submit it on or before 10 th November,
2023.
Report format
 The assignment should be on A4 size document in normal legible font such as
Arial/Calibri/Times-new-roman.
 Formatting: Font size- heading 14, sub-heading and content 12, line spacing 1.5, page
margin- each side 1 inch.
 No. of words: 2000-3000 (min-max)
 References/sources for the information/tables/graphs/images should be clearly
mentioned.
 Upload the report pdf soft copy in LMS.
 25% plagiarism is acceptable.
Topics covered in report:
 The assignment is broadly based on the concept of Sustainable Business / Sustainable
Development
 Option 1: Select any industry and study the sustainable business practices of any 3
companies from that industry (eg. Pharma, FMCG, Computer/IT, Agriculture/Food,
Hotel/Tourism, Education, Construction material, Automobile, etc. This list is only
suggestive, not exhaustive).
o Briefly describe probable adverse environmental impacts of the industry
o Brief introduction of each company – history, geographical presence, scope of
operations, product range, etc.
o Sustainable business practices of each company.
 Option 2: Select any environmental management area (eg. Water management, waste
management, global warming, energy, biodiversity, pollution, food, sanitation, etc.
This list is only suggestive, not exhaustive). Study any 3 organizations (companies or
non-profit) that are working in this area.
o Briefly describe the environmental issue selected
o Brief introduction of each organization – history, founders, geographical
presence, scope of operations, product range, etc.
o Detailed description of the activities or products.
