Please read the following Online Account Opening Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) before

applying for an online account.

By applying for and opening an online account with us, you are deemed to have carefully read,
understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and all the terms and conditions that may apply to
the online account.

In these Terms, Metropolitan Bank & Trust Corporation (“Metrobank”) refers to “us” or “we” or “our” and
‘you’ or ‘your’ refers to you or anyone who is legally authorized to represent you.

ONLINE ACCOUNT OPENING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. To open a regular savings account online, you have to be at least 18 years old, a Filipino or a
resident of the Philippines, you must have any one of the acceptable valid government issued
IDs—Unified Multipurpose ID (UMID), Driver’s License, Passport, Postal ID, and Voter’s ID, and
have an active mobile number and email address. You understand that we may also ask you for
additional documents or information as we deem necessary to determine your eligibility.

2. As part of our customer identification and verification or our Know Your Customer (KYC)
procedure, you agree to the following: (a) we will electronically obtain, verify, record, process,
and update your personal or sensitive information/data such as but not limited to your name,
address, date of birth, civil status, citizenship, employment details, source of income, etc.; (b)
you will present to us your valid government-issued ID or other identification documents,
acceptable under applicable laws; (c) we will capture, record, process, and store your live image,
audio-visual data, biometric data, as well as conduct a Liveness Detection test to detect spoofing
from a real person; and (d) we may outsource the collection and verification of any of your
personal or sensitive information/data to our service providers, without prior notice. If you do not
wish to do any of the foregoing, you still have the option to open an account by visiting any of
our branches near you.

3. You warrant that all information and documents that you will provide to us in connection with
your online account opening application or for any transactions with us are genuine, accurate,
relevant, truthful, and current. You are also responsible for updating us on any change in your
information.

4. Your submission of the requirements alone does not guarantee that we will approve your online
account application. We reserve the right to deny online account opening in case you fail to
comply with these terms or fail to comply with any of our requirements. We will inform you of the
status of your application through your designated email address or mobile number.

5. Upon approval of your online account application, you will have a maximum deposit limit of
PHP50,000.00. We shall lift this limit after we have successfully validated all your information.
You also understand that we may impose transaction limits until we have successfully validated
your signature. Should we fail to validate your signature after 6 months, for any reason
whatsoever, we will tag your account as “inactive.” You will then have to visit any of our
branches to re-activate your account.

6. We will not be liable for any loss or damage of whatever nature, arising from or in connection
with the following: (a) disruption, delay, or inability to open an account due to circumstances
beyond our control such as (i) problems due to electricity, telecommunications, or internet service
provider; (ii) jail-breaking, rooting or any other modifications or conversions made in the devices;
or (iii) the uploading of an unauthorized file and/or script, installation and/or the presence of
malicious software (including malware, viruses and/or bugs) on your mobile device and/or
computer; (iv) the use of unsupported mobile device operating system (OS) versions, making it
vulnerable to attacks; (b) for any inaccurate, incomplete, or delayed information from you; or (c)
other causes which effectively prevents us from processing your application.

7. Once your application is approved, your account shall be subject to our Deposit Terms and
Conditions, posted on our website (https://www.metrobank.com.ph/personal_product.asp), your
compliance with our KYC procedures, Terms of Use of Metrobank Online and Metrobank Mobile
Banking, our policies, and applicable laws and regulations.

8. You agree to hold us free and harmless and to indemnify us from any losses, liabilities, suits,
damages, claim, and/or any other expenses, cases of whatever nature arising from or in
connection with the implementation of your instructions or your breach of these Terms.

9. We may change these Terms, and such changes will be communicated to you, to the extent
feasible and necessary, through any of our available communication channels. You shall be
deemed to have agreed to the changes if you continue with your online account opening
application.

10. If you have questions, complaints, or claims concerning your online account application, please
direct them to customercare@metrobank.com.ph. We will endeavor to respond as quickly as
possible.

11. We may require you to provide your consent electronically. By clicking or selecting buttons or
icons with “I accept,” “I agree” or any words with similar import, you agree that you are signing
an agreement with us electronically and such electronic signature is the legal equivalent of your
actual or handwritten signature. You also agree to receive, obtain, and/or submit documents,
notices, and other information electronically through your registered electronic email and/or
mobile number. While we have set reasonable safeguards, we do not guarantee that transactions
and notices sent electronically will be free from any security risks, interruption, error, or delays.
You are aware of and accept such risks. If you are uncomfortable with any of this, you may visit
the nearest branch to open an account manually.

12. By proceeding with the online account application, you are expressly giving your consent for us
or our service providers to record your image and voice on the video, audio, photographic,
digital, electronic, or any other media, biometrics, and preserve these materials within the period
required by law or regulations for purposes of opening and maintaining an online deposit
account. You also agree to the collection, processing, storing, handling, or disclosing of your
personal data following Metrobank’s Privacy Policy Policy (https://metrobank.com.ph/privacy-
policy).

13. If any provision herein shall be declared void or invalid, such declaration shall not affect the
validity of the other provisions.

14. These Terms are governed by Philippine laws. All disputes arising from or in connection with
these Terms shall be resolved exclusively before the courts of Makati.
