Objective

1. Students be able to understand and familiar with the components of Power Steering Trainer
System.
2. Students be able to understand the correlation of steering turning position to the movement
of suspension, steering knuckle and tie rod.
3. Students be able to differentiate between activated and inactivated of running the Power
Steering Hydraulic System.
4. Students has the ability to install and uninstall the steering load on Power Steering Trainer
System.
5. Students be able to understand the correlation of Steering Load with the Hydraulic pressure
on Steering System.

Equipment

1. Power Steering Trainer and Front-End Unit

2. Power Steering Trainer and Front-End Unit Operation Manual
3. Combination Wrench 13 mm

Component power Steering

1. Wheelhub - The wheel hub assembly secures your wheel to your vehicle and allows the
wheels to turn freely, allowing you to steer safely.
2. Lower mounting - The primary function of an engine mount is to secure an engine to
machinery and absorb any shocks and vibrations while the machinery is in operation.
3. Suspension assembly - Suspension is the system of tires, tire air, springs, shock absorbers,
and linkages that connects a vehicle to its wheels and allows them to move relative to one
another. Suspension systems must support both road holding/handling and ride quality,
which are incompatible.
4. Steering load - give load or loose the steering for experimental the Power Steering Trainer
System. / Give load or loose the steering for comfortable control driving.
5. Steering load pin – Tighten or loosen the steering load during experimental. / Tighten or
loosen the steering for drivers comfortable.
6. Tie rod - The tie rods are in responsible for delivering steering rack force to the steering
arm and rotating the wheel.
7. Steering rack boot cover - The steering rack boot's purpose is to keep dirt, water, and road
contaminants out of your steering rack, keeping it clean and operating properly.
8. Fluid line – To carry the fluid from the reservoir to the steering box and recirculates it back
to the reservoir.
9. Rotary valve - The rotary valve is the component that detects steering wheel force. The
rotary valve contains a torsion bar, a thin rod of metal that twists when torque is applied
to it. The top of the bar connects to the steering wheel and the bottom of the bar connects
to the pinion or worm gear (this turns the wheels).
10. Drive motor -
11. Steering pump
12. Resevoir -
13. Steering column -The connection between the steering wheel and the steering gear box.
Torque transmission from the steering wheel to the steering gear.
14. Steering wheel - The steering wheel controls the steering system and the vehicle's
direction, and it includes a linkage system that directs the vehicle through the front
wheels.
15. Instrument and control panel - Help monitor, adjust, and diagnose the power steering
system, increasing driver awareness and facilitating power maintenance.
16. Power steering Trainer Frame -Intended to demonstrate the various components of the
power steering system. It aids students in comprehending the arrangement and assembly
of these components.
