General Information
Perkins Engines Ltd have released a new version of EST 2016A which is now available to download
from the Perkins Secured Website. https://customer.perkins.com/est.

NOTE: EST 2016A is now fully supported on Windows 10 Operating systems

EST 2016A replaces EST 2015C.

NOTE: EST 2011C, EST 2012A and EST 2014C were not be released

IMPORTANT: TIPSS Communication Adapter and the Perkins Compact Communication Adapter are
NOT supported on Windows 8 and Windows 10 Operating Systems.

Future EST Releases

As previously mentioned in PMB 832 R1, copies of the new EST software in CD format will no longer
be sent out to end users through automatic mailing. If you are unable to use the EST download
option, then you can request EST in CD format using the TIPSS online order form, referring to “How to
Order TIPSS Software” shown below.

Existing EST 2015C License users

Install 2016A on top of EST 2015C, your original License periods will be retained.

How to download Perkins EST 2016A

NOTE: It is important that you are given Administrator rights to install EST software.
1 - Logon to www.perkins.com (CWS ID and password required)
2 - Select the “TIPSS - The Integrated Product Support Solution” Link
3 - Select the “EST” icon
4 - Select “EST Web Installer – 2016A
5 – Depending on your Internet application, you may be given two options “Run” or “Save”
1. Select “Save” and download EST 2016A to your desktop (only). Once you are ready to install,
double click the Executable (EST 2016A v1.0.exe) file and follow the on screen instructions.
2. Selecting “Run” will download and install the software directly onto your computer
NOTE: Due to your individual security settings, you may receive the following Security warning screens

Click OK to continue

Left click the information bar as show above and highlight “Download File….”

Select “Run” to download and install EST 2016A, only if you have administrator rights to your
PC/Laptop.
Or Select “Save”, to save to your desktop.

EST 2016A will now start to download.

When the download is complete, double click the (EST 2016A v1.0.exe) file to install the software, but
only do this when you have administrator rights.

How to License EST 2016A

If you are not sure who your Online Licensing Administrator is, then please contact Ron Cooke
(cooke_ron@perkins.com) who will advise.

New EST Users

Install EST 2016A as above and request a new License from your online licensing administrator.

Once you have received the Activation ID, continue with the following steps

NOTE: To activate your EST license you must Launch EST while connected online. If you do not have
online connectivity, then refer to “Manual Activation EST 2016A”

• Select “Online” (Fig1)

• Select “Activate” (Fig 2)
• Enter the Activation ID, User Name and PC Serial Number, if known (if not known then enter
User name again) then select Authorise (Fig 3).

EST is now licensed and will show license details, including a new Serial Number, Activation ID and
Expiry date.

Manual Activation EST 2016A (No Internet Connection)

Request an activation ID from your online licensing administrator and explain that you do not have online
connectivity. They will send you an Activation ID.
Install EST version 2016A.

From the EST license screen, select “Manual” Next, then Select “Activate” and Next again

Enter the activation ID, adding your “User Name” and “PC serial Number” (If known), enter user name
again if not known.
Select “Save request” and save the “Request.xml” file onto your desktop. Send this File to your online
licensing administrator.
Your Administrator will send back a “”Response.xml” File. Save this file to your desk top.

Select “Load Response File” then locate the “Response.xml” file from your desktop, then select “Open”

A message will appear, saying that the Response File has been successfully processed. Select “OK” to
Activate EST.

How to Order TIPSS Software

You should only order EST (PP3001) in CD format if you are unable to download EST from the Perkins
secured internet (Perkins CWS Id and Password required).

EST Electronic Service Tool PP3001

Second Level Dealers will be required to order copies through their Distributor. Any Distributor who does
not have access to the Secured Internet must contact their Perkins Business Manager to order the
software on CD.

Microsoft Windows XP is no longer supported

Microsoft, will no longer offer support for Microsoft Windows XP. More information can be found here:

Our requirements state that the service tool will be supported on only the current and previous operating
systems (Microsoft Windows 8 and Microsoft Windows 7, respectively, as of 2014). As such, the service
tool will no longer be supported on Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Vista after the 2014A
release. It may be possible to install service tool releases 2014B and later on these earlier Windows
versions; however, support will not be available.

Additionally, there is already a known installation issue with Windows XP that cannot and will not be
fixed by Microsoft. Certain features can cause the computer to reboot without warning. The following link
