Be An Influencer

Who here is good at copying people? I know I can try but I am not
perfect at it. I can copy almost any move or sound someone else
makes but it is a bit of a challenge. Who else thinks they can do that?
PLAY GAME
In today’s lesson we are going to learn about being an influencer or
an inspiration to others. This is not an easy task. You have to
encourage or influence others to do the right things. Just like with
our game you have to influence others to copy your example. Jesus
is the ultimate influencer. His life on earth is an example of how we
must live. He was humble, trustworthy, kind, wise, caring, loving…the
list goes on and on.
MEMORY VERSE taken from:
John 14:6
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me.
In order to be an inspiration to others you have to encourage others
to believe in what is right. In order to do this you must develop a
relationship with others, prove that you are trustworthy and most
importantly set the right example. Even as a child you can be an
influencer and Jesus is our best example of what God wants you to
be like as a child.”
As our memory verse says he is the way, the truth and the life.
Let us look at a time in Jesus’ life when he was a child and was an
example or an influence:
Luke 2:41-52
41
Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.

42
And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of
the feast.
43
And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried
behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

44
But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and
they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

45
And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.

46
And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in
the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

47
And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

48
And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son,
why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee
sorrowing.

49
And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be
about my Father's business?

50
And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

51
And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them:
but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

52
And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

From the scripture we just read

1. What was Jesus like when he was a child?

 Jesus was a real boy. He was fully human and fully God. He grew up,
had birthdays, and learned just like you.
 Jesus listened carefully to Bible teachers
 Jesus went to the temple to worship God
 Jesus always obeyed his parents.
 Jesus obeyed God
1. Jesus is your example. He shows you what you should be like as a
child. Remember that Jesus was a real human just like you. He was
fully God and fully human. Even more if you call yourself a
“Christian.”
2. Jesus’ example shows us we need to be saved. You do not perfectly
obey your parents. Its not because you’re a kid. It’s because of your
sin. It’s because you don’t want to obey your parents. We need God
to take away our sins and give us new heart. And that is what He
promises to do if we will repent and trust in Jesus.
