Short Story Review

Purpose
The purpose of this activ- ity is to help you practice expressing
your opinion about one of the short stories you have read in your book club. Additionally, this assign-
ment is designed to help you practice summarizing.

Learning Outcomes
· Summarize longer text using your own words;

· Recognize patterns of organization, and identify themes and main ideas in texts.

Book Review Format
Your book review should contain the follow elements:
• A clear introduction of the author, the title, and the date published.
• A concise and accurate summary of the story.
• Your analysis, opinion, and recommendation.

Marks
This assignment is worth 10 marks or 10% of your final grade.

Natasha will provide you with a grading rubric. This rubric will allow you to see how you are graded.
