Safety Instructions
HJK-K series ceiling type fresh air AHU has been tested for being able to deliver excellent performances when it is
complying with its design standards. As the AHU may request to use of pressure devices, motor wiring, other relevant
AHU section devices etc, installation should be handled by qualified technicians and engineers.
Please strictly follow the instructions marked on AHU labels and installation manual, and be aware of below and other
applicable instructions:
Operating Principles
1. The ceiling type fresh air handling unit is equipped with coil heat exchanger, copper tube and aluminum fin
structure, which is with high heat exchange efficiency. The working principle (take summer condition as example)
is, when the hot fresh air pass through the coil, heat exchange happens between the coil and the air, the fresh air
will be cooled down. In winter condition, the cold fresh air will be heated up in the same principle.
Internal pressure: when the medium is water, the water pressure should be no more than 1.2Mpa; when the
medium is steam, the steam pressure should be within 0.05~0.5Mpa.
When the air reaches the dew point temperature, condensate water will generate, so a drain pan will be equipped
below the coil to collect the condensate water, and drain it out via the water trap. It is also used for collecting
dirty water when cleaning the coil fin.
Reminder: DO NOT use water/steam with pressure exceeding the upper limit mentioned above. Without
the official written approval of our company, our company will not be responsible for the damage to the
coil caused by the water pressure exceeding the upper limit.
2. The air handling unit is without itself refrigeration/heating plant. All cooling and heating sources are provided by
the outside chilled/hot water which is powered and circulated by the water pump in the water coil. The fresh air
will first pass through the air to air heat exchanger, and then to water coil, and be sent into the room. When the
air passes the water coil, it will be treated by cooling/dehumidifying/heating etc.
3. The filter installed in the flange is to remove the dust from the air.

Installation
2. Chilled(hot) water flows from the lower side to the upper side of water coil. The lower hole is the water inlet pipe
and the upper hole is the water return pipe. There are two pipes for condensation drainage under the AHU base
(Only 1 when it is with enthalpy air to air heat exchanger). For condensate draining, water seal is required for the
drain pipe. To consider AHU negative internal pressure, please make U shape connection as per the following
sketch-map. (See Diagram, “Condensate U shape pipe sketch map”)
3. All the air duct/water pipes connected to the AHU(except the condensate pipe) shall be with adjustable damper/
valve to control the airflow/water flow, and to cut off the air/water flow when maintenance. The cooling/heating
medium inlet/outlet pipe and air ducts outside the AHU shall be with good thermal insulation.
4. The AHU shall be installed flatly and steadily, not bearing any weight of the air duct. The AHU air inlet/outlet shall
connect to the air duct with flexible connection. The bottom base shall be perpendicular to the hanging rod. (See
Diagram, “AHU hanging rod installation”)
5. For the wiring works, open the wiring terminal box on the supply/exhaust fan section, find the wiring diagram
and complete the wiring, power on and start the fan to check if the fan wind wheel is rotating complying with the
instructional arrow sign on the fan case.
6. To protect the motor, appropriate thermal relay needs to connect with each fan power line separately in the
control box.
7. For maintenance purposes, reserve space no less than 500 mm for the left and right sides of AHU.

Operation
1. The ceiling type fresh air handling unit is easy to operate. User only need to power on the fan and pump. The
recommended chilled water flow speed inside the coil is 0.5m/s ~ 2m/s, and 0.5m/s ~ 1m/s for hot water. Please
clean the water circuit and use air release valve to completely exhaust the air inside the coil.
2. When the ambient temperature is below 0˚C, and if the coil is without hot water supply, please drain all the water
inside the coil or the pipe, to prevent the coil/pipe from frost crack.
3. This unit is designed for inlet chilled water 7˚C, and inlet hot water 60˚C. The water shall be clean and its pressure
shall be no more than 1.2Mpa.
4. Before starting the fan, clear the pipes completely and leave no clog inside the pipe, check the pipeline and all
the valves’ working conditions.
5. Power on the AHU and adjust the air damper in the ventilation system, to keep the AHU fan motor operating
current does not exceed the nominal current under AHU rated airflow. Operation with airflow over the rated value
is not allowed. Please refer to the fan motor’s nominal current on the AHU label.
Maintenance
1. Clean the filters regularly. First wash the filters with soapy water, then rinse with clean water. Re-install filters into
AHU after it completely dry. If washing is inefficient, replace the filter material or the whole filter.
2. Total maintenance is required after 2 or 3 years of operation. Remove the incrustation inside the coil with
chemical detergent, and clean the dust on the fan and in the duct to prevent rusting or blockage.
