specially designed to suit the high requirements in neonatal ventilation.
They provide high performance of ventilating neonates in every working
mode.

Benefits

Attuned components with high system performance

To meet this requirement the VentStar Helix heated (N) plus breathing circuits are tested for compatibility with
the Babylog family and ventilators with Neo-option, as well as with BabyFlow plus and other Dräger accessories
for neonates. With the high quality typical of Dräger, these disposable products support to reduce the risk of
cross contamination and offer excellent durability for daily use. Additionally, all gas-carrying components in the
circuits are free of PVC, DEHP and Bisphenol A.

Constant heating performance

The integrated new heating technology with embedded double helix wire supports homogeneous heat
distribution to provide optimum air quality for the patient and was also designed to reduce condensation to
a minimum. Additionally, the smoothbore material and the clear lumen of the circuits help minimise the flow
resistance, support a constant flow and therefore optimise the ventilation performance.

Differentiation to serve individual user needs

Dräger provides two different variants of the new heated circuits for neonates. The VentStar Helix dual heated
(N) plus with heating in both limbs improves the routine work flow because there is no need for a water trap.
For customers who are used to and prefer water trap circuit systems, the VentStar Helix heated (N) plus is the
right choice. With a water trap in the expiratory limb in the customary Dräger design, the user can retain the
usual handling attitude and processes. The design also makes it easy to remove the condensate.

Specialised for High-Frequency ventilation

As an alternative treatment for premature babies and neonatal patients with critical lung diseases, High
Frequency ventilation is being applied more and more frequently. Both heated breathing circuits have been
specially designed with this application in mind. The products both offer an optimised High Frequency
performance, in part due to the low compliance. Through the combined performance together with the
Babylog VN500, Dräger provides a system solution for a powerful and consistent High Frequency Oscillation
delivery. The VentStar Helix heated (N) plus breathing circuits can be used for common ventilation modes and
make an additional circuit change unneccesary as well as saving time through improved workflow.

Solution for every patient

With the two new circuits, Dräger has extended its heated portfolio and can now provide specialised products
for the whole range of patient categories. For neonates with a tidal volume up to 100 mL the VentStar Helix
dual/heated (N) can be used. Additionally, the VentStar Helix heated is the best choice for pediatric and adult
patients with a tidal volume of at least 100 mL.

Neonatal Flow Sensors

Neonatal flow sensors are based on proven hot-wire anemometry

techniques. Due to extremely fast and accurate measurement results, as
well as extremely low inspiratory and expiratory resistances, it is clearly
superior to other methods.
