Using 4mm hook and Mustard ch4, join with a ss

Give a trailing plant a home with this quick
and easy crochet hanger. It’s totally
beginner-friendly and kind to the planet
too! This project is designed to fit a plant
pot at least 12cm tall with an 11-13cm
diameter.

You will need:
Knitcraft Make the Change (DK, 260m/100g, 85%
recycled polyester, 15% recycled acrylic),
one ball of each: Lilac, Cream and Mustard
4mm crochet hook
8mm crochet hook
Scissors
to form a ring.
Round 1 (RS)
Ch3 (counts as tr), 2tr into ring, ch2, (3tr, ch2)
into ring 3 times. Ss to top of beg ch3 to join.
Fasten off. [12tr, 4 2ch-sps]
Round 2
Join Cream in any corner sp, ch3 (counts as tr),
(2tr, ch2, 3tr) in same corner sp, ch1, * (3tr, ch2,
3tr, ch1) into next corner sp, ch1, repeat from *
twice more, ss to top of beg ch3 to join. Fasten
off. [24tr, 4 2ch-sps, 4 1ch-sps]
Round 3
Join Lilac in any corner sp, ch3 (counts as tr),
(2tr, ch2, 3tr) in same corner sp, ch1, 3tr into next
sp, ch1, * (3tr, ch2, 3tr) into next corner sp, ch1, 3tr
into next sp, ch1, repeat from * twice more, ss to
top of beg ch3 to join. Fasten off. [36tr, 4 2ch-
sps, 8 1ch-sps]
Round 4
Join Mustard in any corner sp, ch3 (counts as
tr), (2tr, ch2, 3tr) in same corner sp, (ch1, 3tr into
next sp) twice, ch1, * (3tr, ch2, 3tr) into next
corner sp, (ch1, 3tr into next sp) twice, ch1, repeat
from * twice more, ss to top of beg ch3 to join.
Fasten off. [48tr, 4 2ch-sps, 12 1ch-sps]
Round 5
Join Cream in any corner sp, ch3 (counts as tr),
(2tr, ch2, 3tr) in same corner sp, (ch1, 3tr into
next sp) 3 times, ch1, * (3tr, ch2, 3tr) into next
corner sp, (ch1, 3tr into next sp) 3 times, ch1,
repeat from * twice, ss to top of beg ch3 to join.
Fasten off and weave in ends. [60tr, 4 2ch-sps,

Tension
Granny square measures 12 x 12cm
Tension is not vital for this project.

Measurements
Hanger is approx. 50cm long.
This project is designed to fit a plant pot at least
12cm tall with an 11-13cm diameter.
Base
The base of the hanger is formed by three
chains tied together to make a tassel. Using
Cream, Lilac and Mustard held together and
an 8mm hook, join yarns into any aligned
corner sp, ch5, fasten off leaving a 15cm
yarn tail.
Repeat this process twice more so all three
corners have a chain attached. Tie the ends
of all three chains together in the centre,
then trim the tassel to neaten.
Straps
The hanging straps are worked in the same
way as the base. Using Cream, Lilac and
Mustard held together and an 8mm hook, join
yarns into any aligned corner sp, ch35, fasten
off. Repeat this process twice more so all
three corners have a chain attached. Knot the
ends of the three chains together firmly and
sew in ends.
