Department of Electrical Engineering Y Faculty of Engineering & Applied Sciences Riphah International University, Lahore, Pakistan RIPHAH INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY Program: B.Sc. Biomedical Engineering Semester: V Subject: EE-342 Microprocessor and Interfacing, Date: Experiment 1: Introduction to Proteus 8 Professional. Objectives: You will lear following, * To create a project * To understand the tools. * Torun program in Proteus. Name: Sap ID: Lab Performance Evaluation No. Marks (Obtained Marks IT__| Ability to Conduct Experiment 05 Data Evaluation and Report 05 Total 10 Lab Report Evaluation No. Title Marks ‘Obtained Marks, [T__| Organization & Structure 05 ata Presentation and Calculations 05 Total 10 Remarks (if any): Name & Signature of faculty: Objective: To learn how to install the Proteus 8 professional Software Setup. and learn how to create a project by using its tools and to run the program Background: ‘+ Component Selection: In Proteus, you can select PIC microcontroller components from its extensive library. It supports a wide range of PIC microcontroller models from Microchip, including PIC10, PICI2, PIC16, PICI8, and PIC32 series. © Circuit Design: You can design your electronic circuit by placing the selected PIC microcontroller on the schematic. Connect it to other components, such as sensors, LEDs, and other devices, as needed for your project. ‘© Component Configuration: Configure the properties of the PIC microcontroller, including its clock frequency, memory allocation, and any specific settings required for your application. * Writing PIC Code: Proteus allows you to write and simulate the code for your PIC microcontroller. You can use popular PIC development tools like MPLAB X or MikroC to write the code and then import it into Proteus. © Simulation: After designing your circuit and writing the PIC code, you can run the simulation, Proteus provides a real-time simulation environment where you can observe the behavior of your PIC- based system. This is useful for debugging and t need for physical hardware, ‘© Debugging: Proteus offers various debugging tools, such as breakpoints and watch variables, which help you identify and fix any issues in your code. ‘* Interface Testing: If your PIC-based project involves communication interfaces like UART, SPI, 12C, or GPIO, you can simulate their interactions with other devices or components in your circuit. «PCB Design If your project involves creating a PCB for your PIC-based circuit, you can use Proteus’ PCB layout and routing tool, ARES, to design the PCB and generate Gerber files for manufacturing ‘ng your code and circuit design without the Material Required: + Computer System or Laptop ‘* Proteus 8 professional Software Setup. * Intemet Connection © Use Procedure for installation of Proteus 8 Professional Software: 1. First step is to extract the file after download it from google link: 2. Then we extract the file as shown below: Figure | 3. Then we open the folder and run the setup (Protius_86_SP2_Pro) as administrator. Figure 3 4, Then set the folder by selecting the driver C:/ in which all setup is growing to be install, and enter Next and Next and weight until the all the system is installed. “Ses [ee =a o< [ow Figure Figure 5 (% seup Poss Bretesona - x tats 2 Chitra staat py Mes Figure 6 Now click on the Finish and the shortcut interface of the Proteus. = Figure 7 Figure 8 Procedure for making a project: 1.
